Abstract

A working table or desk has a table stand and a table top (2) which is arranged thereon and can be set, in particular, at an incline. The table stand exhibits a fixed cross-member (8) which runs in the longitudinal direction of the table at the top front in the region of the front edge (9) of the table top (2) and forms an upwardly open ledge (11). The cross-member (8) is arranged beneath the table top (2) and has a cross-member rear wall (12) which is connected to the underside of the table top, bears the table top (2) and projects downwardly from the latter. The ledge (11) is fitted, such that it projects forwards, at the lower end of said rear wall.
