Abstract

The invention concerns a stirrer assembly, designed to fit into a container, with at least one stirrer shaft which can be raised and lowered in the axial direction plus a drive unit, with at least one drive shaft, mounted by means of a supporting housing on the container. The drive shaft and stirrer shaft are detachably connected to each other outside the container by means of an intermediate element with a seal allowing the stirrer shaft to pass through the wall of the container. The seal (11) is disposed a certain longitudinal distance from the opening (9) for the stirrer shaft (5) and rests against a seal housing (18) which covers the connection between the intermediate element (1) and the stirrer shaft (5) and which is designed to be tightly joined to the seal (11) and the container wall (10). In addition, the seal housing (18) and the seal (11) can be telescoped together in the axial direction. A stirrer assembly of this kind is compact and simple in design, and enables the stirrer-shaft seal in the container-wall opening to be changed rapidly with either normally or coaxially mounted stirrer shafts.
