Abstract
In an internal combustion engine having a glow plug (10) a resistance measuring device (13) is provided for determining the electrical resistance and hence the temperature of the glow plug (10). On the basis of the periodic temperature fluctuations, it is possible, for example, by means of analysing electronics (14), to determine the speed of rotation of the internal combustion engine. <IMAGE>
