Abstract

The alarm signalling centre has several signalling lines and for each signalling line a multiplicity of alarm signalling devices, which can be connected in the form of a chain and have different signalling priorities or signalling rates. The alarm signalling devices are cyclically interrogated by the centre for their information signals and can be selected by means of a control signal. Alarm signalling devices having a low signalling rate are switched to an inactive state for a predeterminable period of time when the alarm signalling system is taken into operation or by means of the control signal, in which state these signalling devices do not output any information signal during the interrogation for this time and switch through to the next alarm signalling device, at least in an accelerated manner. The alarm signalling devices having a low signalling rate can be switched to be inactive at particular times. The duration can be determined by a signalling device-internal timer or by a signalling device-internal counter for the interrogations.
