Abstract

The cutting-off machine has a steel support body (4) and grinding cover (5) with diamond grinding particles contained in a sintered binding. The support body (4) is made from air-hardening high-resistant strengthened steel and has on the grinding cover side an outer hardening zone (2) and on the socket hole side a thermally unaffected inner zone (3) with the two zones having different metal structure. The outer zone is strengthened by hardening from the sinter heat with subsequent tempering to a Rockwell C hardness of 34-40.
