Tongue joint with removable joint piece.
The hitherto customary design of pivot points with the pivot pin being supported in a recess provided in the cast rail, in which the tongue moves, shows it! : for heavy use of the switch as too weak against the significant wear and tear on the pivot pin. An injury at this point, the tongue joint, however, requires the tongue and joint to be completely expanded.
Attempts have been made to remedy this by arranging a support body on which the tongue is rigidly arranged with its root and which rests on a butt plate. If, however, the tongue rail has to be replaced with the implementation of this principle that has become known. so at the same time the support body becomes unusable.
For pulls of this type, the invention relates to a design that allows easy replacement of the tongue joint and the tongue rail. A tongue joint according to the invention is shown on the drawing in one embodiment
EMI1.1
a section according to IJZ-III of FIG. 1.
It is a tongue rail, b its stock rail and c its connecting rail, d is a joint.
The laterally unworked foot of the tongue rail a is fitted into a groove machined into the joint piece and the joint piece d is firmly connected to the tongue rail a, u. betw. by screw bolts e by means of clamping plates f. The inner clamping plates engage in recesses in the tongue base and in the joint piece to secure against wandering of the tongue rail and to relieve the screws e, so that they are only subjected to tension.
The nuts on the hook bolts e of the clamping plates are secured against automatic loosening due to vibrations when driving on the switch by means of a plate that accommodates the adjacent nuts in a suitable opening, which is pushed over a pin i fastened in the hinge piece d and through a
Splint k is held in place.
The joint piece d engages with a shoulder y in the lower foot surface of the tongue rail and thereby secures it against wandering. The usual circular-cylindrical milled cutout, the dimensions of which is adapted to the approach y, is suitable for receiving the attachment y. With a cylindrical extension m of large diameter, the joint piece d is fitted rotatably into a recess in the shock pad o. As a result, swivels with this pin m consisting of joint piece d and tongue rail a.
The tongue rail a is secured against any upward movement by the arms p and q, which protrude on both sides of it between head and foot. The tongue tabs r extending into said arms 1) are fastened to the connecting rail c by the screw bolts s, which penetrate the connecting rail e and the stock rail b as well as their angled tab t and the lining piece u inserted between b and c. The arm q sits on the piece of food it. This is screwed to the switch plate w through the bolt v. The switch plate 11) is riveted to the shock pad o which extends over two thresholds.

The described design of the tongue joint prevents any lateral and also any longitudinal movement of the tongue rail root, as well as, of course, unintentional lifting. On the other hand, however, it enables the joint piece d and the tongue rail to be exchanged easily and quickly.
Any obstruction of the tongue rail a by the connecting rail c from swinging out freely is prevented by the steel pegs x riveted to the abutment plate and riveted to the abutment plate, on which the foot of the connecting rail is held. This latch x is arranged in the interior of a sufficiently wide recess at the end of the tongue root.
