<Desc/Clms Page number 3>

At the top is the extension 8 of the slider with a driving pin. M, which comes into contact with the control cams 14 and 15 in the lower part of the locking piece 6 (Fig. 7), in such a way that the relative movement of the sliding piece 4 with respect to the locking piece causes a lateral displacement of the latter, which is the as a pivot acting projection 9 can rotate.
These positions of the closure piece are illustrated in FIGS. 2 and 4. 2 shows the closure piece in its foremost position, its rear end 16 being locked in the ejection opening 17 of the closure housing. 4 illustrates the breech block at the beginning of the movement of the magazine to the rear, when its end 16 has emerged from the ejection opening 17 in order to be taken backwards by the slide.
The locking piece 6 is provided with a firing pin 18 which carries a downward extension 19 and a rear projection 20. The projection 19 cooperates with a groove 21 of the locking piece in such a way that the movements of the firing pin are limited to the front and back. The rear projection 20 of the firing pin lies in a groove provided in the locking piece (FIGS. 3 and 7). At the beginning of the rearward displacement, the driving pin 13 acts on the projection 20 in order to bring the firing pin 18 backwards with respect to the locking piece. so that it cannot prevent the cartridges from moving during ejection.
At the beginning of the movement of the slide to the rear, the driving pin 13 acts on the shoulder of the control surface 15, which is located under the locking piece, in that it moves with the slide in the running axis. It should be noted that the breech block in the firing position, where it is locked in the ejection opening (Fig. 2), forms a certain angle with the longitudinal axis of the barrel, such that the projection 9 rests against the rear boundary surface 22 of the groove 11 of the Slider supports while the projection 10 is at a distance from this surface.
As a result of this arrangement, the action of the driver pin 13 results in a rotation of the locking piece 6 about the projection 9, which causes a lateral displacement of the end 16 of the locking piece and thus its unlocking, such that the locking piece from the position according to FIG the situation of FIG. 4 arrives. From this figure it can be seen that the locking piece is no longer in

can move a certain length backwards. without taking the lock piece with you. This relative displacement continues until the front limiting surface 25 of the groove 11 of the slide (FIG. 5) acted on the projections 9 and 10 of the closure piece. In this way, the rear end 85 of the
EMI2.2
Since the magazine 3 and the slider 4 rigidly attached to it continue their displacement, the cock and the breech block 6 are moved backwards as soon as the front end of the groove 11 of the slider 4 reaches the projections 9 and 10 of the breech block, this being the empty one Cartridge case 27 takes with it. For this purpose, the closure piece is provided with the usual extractor 28 (FIG. 2). In this position, which corresponds to the weft position, the sleeve is not captured by the extractor, u. zw. As a result of its contact with the end 29 of the correspondingly cut out barrel.
As a result, the claw 30 of the extractor is removed from the edge of the case and the cartridge is held in the cartridge chamber of the barrel only by the front surface of the breech block 6 locked in this position.
At the beginning of the rearward displacement, the extractor spring 31 (Fig. 2) pushing forwards creates a torque for the extractor so that the claw 30 of the extractor slides inward on the surface of the rear end 29 of the barrel, engaging the edge of the case and so their entrainment caused by the locking piece. When this has moved backwards so far that it has gone over the nose of the ejector 32, which is fastened to the lock housing and is actuated by a spring 33 (FIG. 2), the ejector throws the empty one in the usual way The sleeve through the ejection opening.
The firing pin 18 is moved backwards when the driving pin 13 comes into contact with its rear projection 20, so that it is in no way possible for the firing pin 18 to touch the bottom of a cartridge before the breech block has returned to its front position . The movement of the slide 4 and of the magazine 3 to the rear is continued until it has reached its limit at which the cock 34 is completely returned to the tensioned position (FIG. 8). At this moment, the rear end 35 of the slider 4 still exceeds the rear end 36 of the firing pin 18, in such a way that any contact between the hammer 34 and the firing pin 18 is avoided.
As can be seen from the drawing, the longitudinal groove of the slide 4 serves as a storage for the feeder 38, which is attached to the lock housing 2 and acts in the usual way. When the slider 4 has assumed the position according to FIG. the end 39 of the feeder holds the cartridge which is ready to emerge from the magazine 3 under the action of the magazine spring (not shown). When the parts are displaced from the position of FIG. 8 towards the barrel, the inclined surfaces provided in the groove 7 of the slider get under the cartridge emerging from the magazine 3 and lift it
<Desc / Clms Page number 3>
The end of the same in such a way that it can support itself against the surfaces 40 of the closure piece (FIG. 6) when it has reached its outermost front position.
During the displacement, the appropriately actuated feeder 38 lifts the cartridge 26 into the guide path formed by the edges 41 of the breech block, so that it engages the cartridge chamber of the barrel before the slide has finished its way forward.
The edges 41 only extend up to the height of the barrel in such a way that when the projectile engages in the cartridge chamber, the rear end of the cartridge is only held on one side, in particular by the extractor 28. When the bullet has gone almost all the way into the chamber. The extractor lays against the beveled end 29 of the barrel (Fig. 2) and is thereby rotated against the action of its spring 31, so that the cartridge, when it is in its correct position in the chamber, is not held laterally by any part of the breech block becomes. At this moment the parts of the mechanism assume the position shown in FIG. 4, in which the breech block lies against the cartridge.
During the to-and-fro movements of the slide 4 and the closure piece 6, the projections 9 and 10 of the latter are in contact with the front boundary surface 2 and 23 of the groove 11 of the slide. From this it follows that towards the end of the forward displacement, the locking piece 6 is prevented from moving forward by its stop against the barrel, while the sliding piece has not yet reached its outermost position and continues to move forward .
During this latter part of the way forward, the driver 13 of the slide rests against the shoulder of the surface 14 of the control cutout of the locking piece and forces it to rotate about its projection 10. As a result of this lateral displacement, the end 16 of the locking piece engages in the ejection opening, so that the locking piece is locked again in the sole position (FIG. 7).
