Description

   <Desc/Clms Page number 1>
 lireuzgelenkkupplung.

 lireuz joint coupling.

   The known universal joint couplings only allow the coupling of two shafts whose axes intersect, but are not suitable for coupling two shafts to one another. whose axes cross each other or have assumed an offset, parallel position to each other.

   The invention relates to a coupling of this type, by means of which the torque of a shaft part can be transmitted to a second shaft part which assumes an inclined or crossing position to the first. It consists in that the two universal joint journals that are in two. Cuffs rigidly connected to one another at right angles are freely guided, penetrate one another in such a freely movable manner. that the point of intersection of the pin axis can shift against the normal position.

   In the drawing, an embodiment of such a coupling is shown in FIG. 1 in a longitudinal section along A-A in FIG. 2 and in this a cross section along B-B in FIG. The coupling consists of two coupling disks m, n wedged onto the shafts k, h, each of which carries the bearing eyes at diametrically opposite points. which interlock in a known manner (Fig. 2).

  The Kreuzgelenlnapfen a, b held in the bearing eyes t are not rigidly connected to each other, but
 EMI1.1
 common guide piece w guided in a known manner at right angles.

   As a result of this arrangement, the intersection of the axes of the two universal joint pins can move against its normal position and thus assume that position which corresponds to the intersecting position of the two shaft parts k, h; accordingly, the shafts k, h coupled to one another can not only assume an intersecting position, as is the case with conventional universal joint couplings, but they can also. yielding to any displacement of their bearings, cross each other without increasing the bearing friction.

   The mode of operation of this coupling is due in particular to the fact that when the two shafts k, h intersect, the intersection of the cross pin axes can leave the normal position and move in the line of the linear eccentricity of the two shafts t by twice the amount of eccentricity.
