Demgemäss wird das Verfahren in folgender Weise ausgeführt :
Der Zinkstaub wird in einen rotierenden oder schwingenden Schmelzofen oder ein Schmelzgefäss von solchem Querschnitt eingeführt, dass die Beschickung eine solche Dicke erreicht oder zu einer solchen Höhe in den Ofen steigt, dass sie durch ihr eigenes Gewicht den oben erwähnten, für die Bildung flüssigen Zinkes erforderlichen Druck in den tiefest liegenden Schichten der Poussièremasse ausübt. In dem Ofen ist überdies eine elektrische Heizquelle angebracht, welche die Erhitzung des Ofens zu einer etwas höheren Temperatur als die Schmeiztemperatur des Zinkes erlaubt.
Infolge der Bewegung des Ofens werden die Zinkstaubkörner dazu gebracht, dass sie durch die Masse, besonders durch ihre tiefste Schichte passieren, wobei dieselben zufolge des Gleitens unter dem Drucke der darüberliegenden Masse reingeschliffen werden und die Kohäsionskraft zwischen denselben erregt wird, so dass die Körner infolge der gleichzeitigen Erhitzung sich allmählich zusammenschliessen.
Das Zink wird von Zeit zu Zeit abgezogen und der Ofen mit neuer Poussière nach- gefüllt, so dass der für den Zweck erforderliche Druck aufrechterhalten wird.
