In der Zeichnung ist in Fig. i ein einseitiger Schnitt durch einen mit drei Kolbenringen versehenen Kolbenkörper, in Fig. 2 ein Schnitt durch den Kolbenring mit Ansicht der Stossfuge und in Fig. 3 eine Draufsicht des Kolbenringes dargestellt. a ist der Kolbenkörper, b der Kolbenring. An der Innenfläche des Kolbenringes ist die Nut b1 vorgesehen, die exzentrisch sein kann, um die bekannte gleichmässige Federung zu erzielen, obgleich der Kolbenring selbst konzentrisch ist. In der Kolbenringnut des Kolbenkörpers bleibt die Rippe al stehen, die in die Nut b1 des Kolbenringes eingreift.
Die Labyrinthdichtung braucht nicht genau zu passen ; dadurch, dass die Explosionsgase auf ihrem Weg von der oberen Kolbenringfläche zur unteren Kolbenringfläche sechsmal um den Vorsprung herumstreichen müssen, wird genügend Dichtung erzielt.
