Device for rounding or narrowing manufactured on a paper roving machine
Fiber strips.
The fiber strips produced on paper roving machines are generally rounded or narrowed by Nitschel or dicing devices before being wound onto spools or drums or the like. These Nitschel or Würgelapparate essentially consist of rubber pants; However, rubber is a relatively expensive material and is currently difficult or impossible to obtain. Obtaining a replacement material for rubber is also associated with great difficulties and does not meet the requirements. On the other hand, however, the implementation of an economical way of working requires the paper strips to be prepared before they are wound onto bobbins or the like, either by rounding them up or by pressing them together or otherwise narrowing them.
According to the present invention, instead of the previously used Nitschel or dicing devices, folding devices are used, through which the strips produced on the machine are passed in order to fold them in the longitudinal direction. The folders can either be set up so that

The folding device shown for example in FIG. 1 is shown in FIGS. 2 and 3 on a larger scale. FIGS. 4 a to 4 g show sections of the folding device along the lines A-A, B-B, C-C, D-D, etc. in FIG. 3. The mode of operation of the folding devices can be easily understood from these figures.
Instead of removing the paper strips from the distribution drum b, they can also be discharged at any other point in the machine, for example at the guide roller f.

It should also be emphasized that in the manufacture of paper yarn the use of folding devices is known per se, but only in connection with strips of already finished paper cut in the longitudinal direction, fiber strips that are freshly formed and are therefore still in a moist or semi-moist state to fold has not yet been proposed.
