Siphonkopf.
<Desc/Clms Page number 2>

Siphon head.
Siphon heads with a block made of porcelain or the like containing the flow channels and a housing consisting of two or more pieces connected to one another in a suitable manner are already known. The invention relates to such siphon heads and essentially consists in the fact that the parting joints of individual or all pieces of the housing jacket lie wholly or partially in the longitudinal direction of the housing. In this way, a quick assembly of the parts of the siphon head and a cheap production of the same is made possible.
The drawing illustrates the subject matter of the invention, for example, namely FIG. 1 shows an embodiment of the same in a side view, FIG. 3 shows the associated top view and FIG
EMI1.1
Embodiment shows, of which Figs. 5 and 6 show two details.
The housing jacket of the siphon head, which accommodates the block e made of porcelain or the like, is made of two pieces a and b, the butt joints of which lie in the longitudinal direction of the housing.
In the embodiment according to FIGS. 1 to 3, these butt joints are located in one plane. which is perpendicular to the longitudinal center plane of the pouring tube d, and one half part a has an opening c through which the pouring tube made of one piece with the block e passes. Above the opening c a bulge./ 'is provided which forms an abutment for the pivot g of the valve lever h. The second half part b has a longitudinal slot k opposite the bulge f, in which the lever h is guided. At the lower end, both parts a and b are provided with an internal thread, the threads of which complement each other when parts a and b are put together.
The lower part of the siphon head housing, on which a cylindrical ring n is pushed, has on the outer surface the shape of a cone with a downward taper, so that the ring n, when it is applied to the siphon head housing, its
EMI1.2
presses. For this purpose, the ring n can be designed correspondingly slightly conical in the interior. The cap p covers the housing parts a and b at the upper end b and holds them together. It is held on the half part b by a rivet pin q.
Since the cap p is permanently connected to the part b, the parts a, b are joined together by pushing the part a with its upper end into the cap p. The latter could of course also be screwed on, but this type of fastening would have the disadvantage that the cap could easily loosen. Then the ring n is pushed over the lower ends of the parts a, b and the parts connected in this way are placed on the bottle. Now the customary split ring s to be placed on the bottle neck is screwed into the thread in the shell half parts a, b. This holds the clamping ring n, as shown in FIG. I, so that the connection is completely rigid.
After being unscrewed from the bottle neck, the siphon head can easily be dismantled into its individual parts for cleaning purposes.
In the embodiment according to FIGS. 4 to 6, the parting joints of the two housing halves lie in the longitudinal center plane of the pouring tube d. There is a cutout t in each half of the housing to allow the pouring tube to pass through when the housing is assembled. The bulge which serves as a bearing for the pivot g for the valve lever h and the guide slot for this lever is also formed in a similar manner. As can be seen. this arrangement has the
<Desc / Clms Page number 2>
The advantage that the pouring tube and the lever lz prevent the housing parts from shifting relative to one another. The lid p is held in place on the upper end of the housing by a screw pin lt.
Without deviating from the concept of the invention, the housing jacket of the siphon head can also be composed of more than two pieces, provided that the parting joints of individual or all of the pieces are wholly or partially in the longitudinal direction of the housing.
