Trockener Gasmesser.

Dry gas meter.
The invention relates to configurations on the moving parts of the distribution organs of measuring devices and other similar apparatus, in particular of so-called dry gas meters.
In the drawing, an exemplary embodiment of the subject matter of the invention is shown, namely Fig. 1 shows, on a reduced scale, a side view of a dry gas knife with the features according to the present invention, Fig. 2 illustrates a perspective view, with parts of the outer cover removed in order to show the internal organs according to the present invention more clearly.
According to the present invention, the movement of each bellows 1 is transmitted to the registration mechanism by means of a bracket 2 which alternately swings forwards and backwards about the horizontal axis 8, the two end journals of which are supported in the bearings 4 attached to the knife wall 5. The bracket 2 transmits its oscillating motion to the rod 6 lying in the extension of one of its branches, which penetrates the upper wall 7 of the device and drives one of the slides 8 and the registration mechanism for the corresponding dispensed volume. The movement of the two bellows 1 is transmitted symmetrically in such a way that the second shaft 9 actuates the slide 10, the registration mechanism being driven at the same time with the interposition of the shaft 11, which is equipped with a screw without an end 12.
The rotational movement of the shaft 11 in one sense results from the combined action of the cranks 13, 14 and the links 15, 16, which the cranks mentioned with the upper
Connect the joints of rods 6 and 9.
The lower arm of the bracket 2 is connected to the bellows 1 by eyelets 18 with elongated openings, which are provided at each end of the mentioned bracket 2, perpendicular to the web 19 of the guide 17. This bracket 2 serves as well as the guide 17 to. that the bellows 1 always moves parallel to itself. Under these circumstances it is sufficient to connect the rods 20 or 21 of each slide at a suitable point with the rods 6 or 9 in order to achieve the desired movement of the slide. Since the movement of the bellows on the slide without any further intermediate links

longer operating time, still influenced by the play of the moving organs, nor their elasticity, nor by the stress to which they are subjected.
The forces for moving the slide on their sliding surfaces are almost zero, so to speak, and always extend in the direction of the slide rods.
It should be noted that there is no effect of any kind tending to lift the slides from their seats, even if some debris on the sliding surfaces opposes some resistance to the slide movement.
With the other distribution systems, some resistance due to the resulting impact will often cause the slides to suddenly lift from their seats.

The number of movements of the bellows and, consequently, the volume dispensed by the device is registered by a suitable mechanism to which the rotary movement of the shaft 11 is transmitted by the interposition of the screw without an end 12. This axis 11 makes one rotation every time the two bellows have completed their movement.
A change in the eccentricity of the cranks 13 and 14 with the aid of screw nuts 22, 23 allows the bellows to be regulated at will and consequently a constant measuring capacity for all gas meters of the same caliber

and to be able to regulate the outflow under the most favorable conditions and while ensuring the best effect of the knife.
A key feature of the present invention is that on each

the oscillation, d. H. At the point where the rod penetrates the partition between the slides and the bellows, a membrane 24 made of leather or a similar material is provided, which is tight and flexible and both on the rods 6 or 9 and on the wall 7 is used. From this arrangement there is, so to speak, no interruption in this wall, since the perforated metal part for the passage of the rod is replaced by a flexible membrane without any attachment or cutout that could allow gas to pass through.
It is clear that in view of the small oscillation amplitude of each rod, the membrane 24 is only slightly bulged in order to follow the movements of this rod, whereby the
No noticeable resistance is opposed to the vibration
It also follows that the membrane of each rod does not cause any pressure loss and that it remains just as homogeneous and tight as the membranes that form the bellows.
This combination of the operating rods, the slide with a diaphragm which replaces the stuffing boxes, can also serve other purposes as soon as it is a question of transmitting movement from one point to another across a wall.
This device is not only applicable to dry gas meters with two bellows, but also to all gas meters of the same type, regardless of the number of bellows and whether the distribution slide is cylindrical, circular, with the aid of a valve or the like. The device is also applicable to all devices which carry organs which are to be firmly connected to one another in such a way that there is a constant relationship between their relative movements without the slightest defect in the leakage of the closing walls.
