Description

Roller bearings for armored turrets and similar facilities.
The invention relates to a roller bearing for armored turrets and similar devices. In roller bearings of this type, it aims to protect the rollers and their roller tracks against any change in shape that can be caused by a sudden overload on the rotating part. In the case of armored turrets, for example, the bursting of a
Grenade exert sufficient pressure on the armored dome to cause flattening of the rollers or impressions in the running surface of the runways and in this way impair the slight rotation of the tower. A device is already known according to which the upper rim of the dome is supported on support rollers by means of a running rim elastically connected to the dome.
However, this device is not only cumbersome and not very effective, but it also requires the use of guide and sliding surfaces between the elastically supported running ring and the actual dome or a second running ring supporting the latter. However, such surfaces can give rise to jamming in the event of bumps and overloads, which make the free play of the elastically supported running ring impossible, so that the device is no longer effective.
According to the present invention, this disadvantage is eliminated in that the elastic rollers known per se are used. The device is characterized in that rollers whose elasticity is greater than that of full rollers cooperate with two rings which are separated from one another by a gap which is smaller than the reduction in the diameter of the rollers when the elastic limit is reached. This particular simple and strong design, in which guide and sliding surfaces as well as springs are not required, any permanent change in shape of the rollers and any formation of indentations on the running surfaces is avoided.
The drawing represents an embodiment of the subject matter of the invention, namely FIG. 1 is a vertical section through the roller bearing, while FIG. 2 shows one of the rollers used in a longitudinal section.

an armored turret connected roller conveyor g is arranged. A ring of rollers k is arranged between these tracks, the axes i of which are mounted in two circular guides k of known design in such a way that the rollers are identical. Distances from each other and their axes stay in the direction of the radii of the taxiways.
The roller conveyors have a ring-shaped approach. f, whose facing surfaces m, n are horizontal. Between these surfaces there is a margin o

limit permissible reduction of the roll diameter is measured. The elasticity of these rolls can be increased by any means compared to that of ordinary full rolls.
These means can, for example, consist in the rollers (FIG. 2) being formed by an elastic metal ring b which surrounds a body c made of rubber, wood or some other elastic material; each roller is provided with a sleeve or hub d with which it is mounted on its axis of rotation.
