 <Desc/Clms Page number 2>

Water tube boilers with upper and lower boilers connected to one another by boiler tube bundles.

In the case of water-tube boilers, the generation of technically dry steam has always caused difficulties, which, however, have been eliminated for the one- and two-chamber boilers with inclined water pipes by installing special water circulation devices. However, it has not yet succeeded with the steep-pipe boiler. obtain sufficient dry steam without excessive use of the superheater; once, because with these boilers almost

Steam mixture is thrown briskly into the steam room, so the kettle is boiling.

To increase the water surface and the steam space in vertical tube boilers. it has already been proposed to connect a longitudinal upper boiler with one or more transverse lower boilers by means of boiler pipe bundles. In this kettle, the pipes of the individual bundles open directly into the upper kettle in such a way that the kettle boils in the manner indicated above despite the increased water surface.

After the binding, the production of technically dry steam should now be achieved with such
Boilers are achieved by the fact that the (first)
Rows of tubes of each tube bundle open into the transverse tube walls of the upper boiler at an angle that is as obtuse as possible to the longitudinal axis of the boiler in such a way that the water discharge as well as the water return occurs mainly in the longitudinal direction of the upper boiler, which ensures that the steam is excreted without boiling.

Fig. I shows an embodiment of the invention in a schematic representation; the dashed lines indicate an optional arrangement.

Fig. 2 shows the boiler in a side view according to Fig. I; the dashed lines indicate an optional arrangement.

Fig. 3 shows the water circulation in a boiler according to the invention.

As can be seen in the drawing, the new boiler consists of one or more known longitudinal upper boilers A1, A2, etc. with two or more (three are shown) also known, attached cross tube walls Bl'B2'Ba etc. These tube walls are used for Recording of the rolled-in boiler tube bundles C1, C2, C2 etc. The shape of the
According to the invention, pipe walls are chosen so that the pipe ends of the individual pipe bundles open into the pipe walls in such a way that the water flows rising from the pipes are given a direction approaching the longitudinal axis of the upper boiler, so that at
Steep tube boilers have hitherto always avoided the hurling of water into the steam space, or at least significantly reduce it! t will.

For this purpose, the tube walls are best designed to be cylindrical (cf. FIGS. 1 and 3 B1), because the cylindrical shape of the tube walls B1. B2 allows the tubes to be inserted so that their ends (in particular those of the outer tubes) are below Maintaining their vertical position to the boiler wall are inclined to the axis of the upper boiler.

The cylindrical shape of the pipe walls is the most appropriate for obvious reasons; but it is not the only one possible, because there are other forms for the transverse

The pipe wall consists of several flat surfaces that meet at obtuse angles.

The cross tube wall B3 of FIG. 3 is provided with a plurality of surfaces that are stepped from one another. But the boil pipes always flow into the Qierrpjwamd in this way. that above, as with the cylindrical shape of the transverse pipe wall, their water flows mainly in the longitudinal direction of the upper boiler.

of the upper boiler A enters, falls through the rear tube bundle C3 into the rear space of the lower boiler formed by a partition F and rises through the front tube bundle C. C \ back into the upper boiler A.

The vapor developed flows out through an extraction nozzle G. Since the speed of the rising water flow in the first row of pipes facing the gas flow is considerably greater than in the following rows (see Fuchs. Generator, Kraftgas- und Dampfkesselbetrieb, Berlin 1905, pages 73, 78 and 80) and since the kinetic energy of the individual streams are related to each other like the squares of the velocities, so with the introduction of the rows of tubes into the transverse tube walls shown here, the flows of the first rows of tubes in the tube bundles with ascending water flows follow the direction of the flows in the
