Cross rolling mill for pipes.
EMI1.1
shows a side view of the mandrels and the mandrel holder, as well as a section through the rolling mill and Fig. 2 shows an end view, while Fig. 3 shows a cross section of the rolled piece being processed together with the rollers and the mandrels.
Three or more rollers w provided with spiral flights are arranged around a common center point and are supported in such a way that the space between them narrows towards one side. Opposite the rollers, mandrels d and e are slidably mounted. The mandrel e, which forms a truncated cone, is designed to be hollow and provided with a hollow rod, while the rod of the mandrel d is slidably arranged in the mandrel and in its rod.
EMI1.2
Disc given, which is provided with a hole in the middle. This is not passed all the way through the block, so that there is still a floor b underneath it. This serves the; mandrels d inserted into the opening for support.
The correspondingly hot workpiece is introduced at the further point of the intermediate space of the rollers w set in rotation and pressure is exerted on it by means of the mandrels. At the same time, however, by means of the rollers, the material is pressed forward as a result of the arranged spiral turns until the front edge of the mandrel ('is roughly the same as the front edge of the rollers w. This mandrel then stops and the mandrel d only continues to move. The spiral-shaped grooves on the rollers are expediently produced in a similar way to screw cutting, but as a result of the pressure through the mandrels and as a result of the spiral turns of the rollers, the outer one now becomes

formed, which is supported by the spine d following the anterior part of the same.
The rollers were, as shown, designed as a rule conical, in such a way that the conicity of the rollers approximately the shape of the conical, respectively. corresponds to this conical workpiece. This has the advantage that the rollers impart an approximately uniform rotation at all points on the surface of the workpiece, so that it is avoided that the material is twisted in itself and that this causes the material fibers to tear.
The drive of the Wa! zen takes place through the gear ring z, which is driven by means of an intermediate gear and is guided by the rollers r on the frame. The external teeth of the desc! ben engages in the teeth of the wheels c and their shafts carry the angular wheels p, which are used to drive the wheels a connected to the rollers w. The rollers are mounted in the forks g, which are rotatably arranged at i. With these

PATENT APPROACH:
1. Cross rolling mill for tubes with conical rollers arranged obliquely about a common central axis, characterized. that the rollers? 'are provided with spiral-shaped grooves so that the tubes can be produced directly from the block, the grooves slowly peeling the material off the block and gradually turning it into one, supported by a correspondingly shaped mandrel as it passes the roller passage Tube is rolled out with correspondingly thick walls.
