Description
<Desc/Clms Page number 1>

<Desc / Clms Page number 1>
Hammer for pianos, pianinos and similar instruments.
The previous construction of the hammers for pianos, pianinos and similar in. Instruments have the disadvantage that the coating of the hammers, especially their outer parts, loses its suppleness after a relatively short period of use, which affects the softness of the tone and the fullness of the instrument.
This is particularly the case with the most frequently used middle layers and the two higher layers.
In the hammer construction according to the invention, the stated disadvantage is countered by applying a correspondingly strong layer of rubber or a similar elastic material directly under the outermost layer of the hammer covering, which is most suitably made of soft leather or another similar material.
Since all of the materials in question will probably suffer damage from the action of the air, it is advisable to terminate the elastic layer in a suitable manner on the two side surfaces.
