Process for the production of electrical capacitors by injection molding.

For three-phase capacitors, in which a movable plate system is united between the plates for the purpose of changing capacitance! stationary system can be moved,
 EMI1.1
both systems from the solid, for example by milling. In the first case, significant changes in capacity cannot be avoided when screws are loosened and individual panels are displaced accordingly. In the second case, there is the disadvantage that the plates become too strong and, accordingly, the capacitor becomes too heavy and too large; production is also too expensive.

Even the proposal to manufacture the entire capacitor from injection-molded metal was not able to eliminate all the disadvantages of such constructions. Because of the circumstance
 EMI1.2
and relatively small thicknesses cannot be produced by the injection molding process, only capacitors of smaller dimensions can be made from injection molding. Furthermore, it is not possible with this method to obtain desirably thin capacitor plates.

According to the invention, these inconveniences are eliminated in that the corresponding dü. Through sheet metal stamped plates of the capacitor in one or more places
Injection molding are connected to a rigid structure. According to the invention, the injection-molded metal only serves to rigidly unite the plates at the corners. By using the injection molding process, it is possible to connect even very large thin capacitor plates to form a rigid whole in such a way that the mutual spacing of the plates and plates is exactly the same
 EMI1.3
and finally this ensures that, due to the low melting temperature of the injection-molded rivet, they do not suffer any appreciable deformation when performing the process.

Feller allows the injection molding process to use aluminum as the material of the condenser plates, which is essential in the interest of achieving the lowest possible mass of the condenser. The injection molding process finally offers a fast and cheap manufacture,

 attached.

As can be seen from FIG. 1, the capacitor is made up of several individual capacitors KI, K'J. formed, each of which is produced for itself in the manner described. The stationary systems of these capacitors are lined up on columns s which pass through openings 0 in the injection-molded corners e. The movable plate systems, on the other hand, are attached to the axis of rotation d in such a way that they are jointly held in the required position by this.

   PATENT CLAIMS:
