In Fig. 1 ist von dem Kraftfahrzeug nur eine erste angetriebene Achse 1 und eine zweite im Normalbetrieb nicht angetriebene Achse 2 angedeutet. Die erste angetriebene Achse 1 wird von einem Verbrennungsmotor 3 über ein Schaltgetriebe 4 und ein Achsdifferential 5 angetrieben, das die Antriebskraft auf die beiden Halbwellen und ihre Räder 6,7 verteilt. 15 Die zweite Achse 2 hat keine Antriebsverbindung mit der ersten Achse 1, sondern einen elektrischen Zusatzantrieb 9, strichliert eingerahmt. So sind die Räder 20,21 angetrieben. Wenn das Kraftfahrzeug, so wie hier, mit einem ABS ausgestattet ist, hat es ein den Bremsein-25 griff in Abhängigkeit von gemessenen Raddrehzahlen (dazu die Raddrehzahlsensoren 31,32,33,34) beeinflussendes ABS - Steuergerät 30. Die Raddrehzahlsignale stehen auch für die Steuerung des Zusatzantriebes zur Verfügung, etwa über einen CAN - Bus. Im beschriebenen Ausführungsbeispiel ist die Steuerung des Zusatzantriebes sogar in das ABS - Steuergerät 30 integriert. Es liefert daher auch die Ausgangssignale für die Steuerung des Zusatzantriebes: durch 30 die Leitung 35 ein Motorsteuerungssignal zur Leistungselektronik, die dem Akkumulator 40 Strom entnimmt und ihn gesteuert über die Speiseleitung 38 dem Elektromotor 10 zuführt; und durch die Leitungen 36,37, die separat generierte Steuersignale zu den beiden Kupplungen senden. Dadurch kann jede der beiden Kupplungen einzeln angesteuert werden und so die beiden Achswellen unabhängig voneinander mit der jeweils berechneten Drehzahl angetrieben werden. Werden beide 35 Kupplungen 16,17 gelöst, so ist der gesamte Zusatzantrieb abgekuppelt und kann stillgesetzt werden. In der Ausführungsform der Fig. 2 sind die Bezugszeichen entsprechender Teile um 100 erhöht. Der Hilfsantrieb wird gebildet von einem Elektromotor 110 und in einem Gehäuse 114 (strichliert angedeutet) ein von miteinander kämmenden Zahnrädern 111,112,113 gebildetes festwelliges 40 Untersetzungsgetriebe 109 und Kupplungen 116,117. Das letzte Zahnrad 113 sitzt auf dem Zentralteil, der auf nicht dargestellte Weise im Gehäuse 114 gelagert und hier ein zylindrischer Hohlkörper 115 ist. Dieser bildet die äussere Kupplungshälfte beider steuerbarer Reibungskupplungen 116,117.
