Gearboxes for internal combustion engines with cylinders arranged in a star shape.

If, in internal combustion engines with cylinders arranged in a star shape, all plcuel rods are attached in the same way to a common bearing bush of the crank
 EMI1.1
   special consideration must be given.

According to the invention, in contrast to the known arrangement, no rotating gears are used; the purpose of correctly guiding the crank pin bushing is achieved by an internal gear wheel that rotates on the crankshaft, the teeth of which would come with the tooth sprocket of the crank pin bushing and which is driven by idler gears with fixed axes in such a way that the bushing is in a known manner during one revolution of the crank does not rotate about its axis.

1 of the drawings is a longitudinal section through the part of the crankcase containing the transmission; Fig. 2 indicates the direction of rotation of the wheels.

Din wheels of one gear pair a, c have the same diameter. The

 EMI1.3
In the embodiment shown, in this case, gear b, which is a third smaller, meshes with gear d, which is twice the diameter and which sits on Innenzabnrnd J /. t and with this rotatable on the crankshaft! t 'is stored. This internal gear meshes with the

covers but does not turn around its own axis; its teeth roll on the internal gear J, which has twice the number of teeth, in such a way that the same teeth of both riders mesh with every second rotation of the shaft and that all connecting rods maintain their angular position.

Since none of the gears, with the exception of wheel e, do any planetary motion with their masses, they also do not require any counterweights.

3 of the drawing shows a device which, in conjunction with the internal gear J, is used to actuate steamer organs; For this purpose, cams n are arranged in a corresponding number on the outer circumference of the internal gear J.

   PATENT CLAIMS:
1. Transmission for internal combustion engines with cylinders arranged in a star shape, in which the old connecting rods are articulated on a bushing that encompasses the crank pin and is rigidly connected to a gearwheel, which only rotates with the crankshaft when the crankshaft rotates, but does not rotate around its own axis characterized in that apart from the gearwheel (e) attached to the crankpin bushing, all gearwheels (a, b, c, d, J) of the transmission rotate around fixed axes without planetary movements.
