Description

    Cartridge case for artillery shells.

The invention relates to cartridge cases for artillery projectiles. Experience has shown that when the shot is fired, the bore of the cartridge case widens as a result of the forces directed radially outwards, as a result of which the detonator rivet and the bottom cover loosen.

The invention remedies this disadvantage; their essence is that one or more lugs are attached to the bottom surface of the cartridge case, which engage in corresponding recesses in the bottom cover. By virtue of this arrangement, it is possible to absorb the aforementioned radially outwardly directed forces on the bottom cover, so that the cover relieves the riveting of the firing bell and thereby prevents the cartridge case bore from widening.

In the drawing, the invention is exemplified in two embodiments.

In Fig. 1, a is the cartridge case which is connected in a known manner by means of the Zündglockennietes b to the bottom cover c. On the sleeve a is now the approach d, which engages in the recess e of the bottom cover c. If radial forces occur during the shot in the direction of arrow f, then the approach d will find support at the recess e in the bottom cover c. The cover thus takes the radially outward force. fte f and prevents the bore g from widening. The riveting is relieved.

In the embodiment in FIG. 2, the extension h of the sleeve i engages in a dovetail shape in the recess k of the base cover 1, so that when the shot is fired, the sleeve i and the testicle cover l interlock more and more tightly due to the outward forces in the direction of the arrow m.
 EMI1.1
 - 1. cartridge case for artillery projectiles, characterized in that the bottom of the case (a) engages with one or more lugs (d) in recesses (e) of the bottom cover (c) in order to relieve the Zttndglockennieten.
