Description

  Articulation piece for sole.

To produce the joint, joint pieces are incorporated into the shoes and boots, which are almost without exception made of cardboard, artificial leather or other leather substitutes.

The thicker cardboard processed into these joint pieces. the more the shoe joints are arched and stiffened in the transverse direction by them, which is quite desirable.

So that the edges of the joint pieces, which are adapted to the shape of the shoe bottom, do not develop in the sole and the smoothest possible transition from the joint arch to the upper leather is achieved, the joint pieces were sharpened on one side on the circumference, which was usually done with the help of a knife .

By sharpening, however, a sharp edge was created parallel to the border on the upper side of the joint piece, which appeared more pronounced with increasing cardboard thickness and later, if the worker did not take the necessary measures, formed in the sole, i.e. caused blemishes that caused the Made shoes difficult to sell.

Sharpening with a knife, however, had the disadvantage, apart from the formation of edges, that even when the knife edge became slightly blunt, the edges of the joint part cracked and were naturally less resistant.

The subject of the present invention is articulated pieces in which the sharpening takes place at a significantly steeper angle, but the articulated piece by rolling or pressing
 EMI1.1
 is laid.

The subject of the invention is shown in the drawing.

Fig. 1 shows a cross section through a joint piece a, which is curved or convex on both sides. This shape is best obtained in a correspondingly designed compression mold. Due to the curvature of the joint on both sides, the otherwise usual filling of the indentation, which is created by the sharp edges c and the lining d over the insole e, is avoided because the one curvature of the joint lies in it. By embedding the
 EMI1.2
spring f (Fig. 5 and 6) is expediently attached to the side facing the insole. The spring can be a steel or wood spring.
