Ionisationakammer für die Messungen von Röntgenstrahlen.
Die bisher verwendeten Ionisationskammern zur Messung der Dosis oder Härte von Röntgenstrahlen sind mit parallelen, ebenen Elektrodenplatten versehen. Es muss daher die Kammer bei der Messung stets in einer bestimmten Richtung zu den Röntgenstrahlen angeordnet sein, da sich sonst das von den Strahlen durchsetzte Luftvolumen zwischen den Platten verändert.
Erfindungsgemäss wird eine besondere Rücksichtnahme auf die Strahlenrichtung dadurch vermieden, dass die Ionisationskammer nach Art eines Kugelkondensators ausgebildet ist. Sie bestehe, wie das auf der Zeichnung dargestellte Ausführungsbeispiel erkennen lässt, aus einer kugelförmigen Innenelektrode i, die beispielsweise aus Aluminium gefertigt ist, und aus einer diese konzentrisch umgebenden hohlkugelförmigen Aussenelektrode, die beispielsweise aus einer auf einem Zelluloidkörper z aufgeklebten dünnen Aluminiumfolie a gebildet ist. Die Innenelektrode ist mit dem Elektrometer verbunden, die Aussenelektrode ist mit der Wand des zum Elektrometer führenden röntgenstrahlendichten Metallschlauches m. verbunden und so geerdet.
Das Material der Elektrode muss zur Vermeidung von Sekundärstrahlung ein kleineres Atomgewicht besitzen als 28. Die als Aussenelektrode dienende Aluminiumfolie ist so dünn zu wählen, dass die durch sie ausgeübte Absorption der Röntgenstrahlen vernachlässigbar klein ist.
