Installation on electric incandescent lamps with gas filling.
In the case of electric incandescent lamps, in particular metal filament lamps, in which the specific current load of the filament is relatively high, it has been shown that the glass parts in the vicinity of the melting points of the power supply wires are easily exposed to destruction. Since lamps with such high loads are often filled with gases, this disadvantageous phenomenon is generally due to the fact that when the lamp is in operation the rising hot gases hit the glass parts in question and heat them up to such an extent that they emit gases. With lead gas z. B. generally after a short operation of such a lamp a strong blackening of the foot, which is due to a reduction of the lead oxide contained in the glass.
The present invention relates to the installation of a protective wall between the filament and the lamp parts to be protected. This intermediate body, which is made of metal or another heat-resistant material, must be sealed as well as possible against the supply wires and fill the bell neck as much as possible so that direct access to the base of the hot gases rising when the lamp is operated is avoided as far as possible.
An embodiment of the invention is shown in the drawing.
The actual incandescent lamp bell 1 is separated from the pinch foot 2 of an incandescent lamp to be protected by the plate 6, which is held by means of the wires 8. To be one possible

guide wires 7 connected.
The arrangement described can be used with the same beneficial effect in all closed bodies in which hot gases circulate and the insertion points are thereby endangered. Instead of one, several protective walls can be arranged.
