EMI1.1
The subject of the invention is a compulsory control for steam engines, which differs from the previous controls in that the control element is driven by a crank, which consists of two cranks and a rod connecting them, in such a way that the rod connecting the cranks the eccentric rod is used.
The arrangement is also such that the fulcrum of one crank is adjusted by the controller, whereas the second crank acts directly on the spindle of the control element.
This arrangement has the advantage that larger openings result even with normal fillings and, at the same time, a creeping opening or such a closure is avoided. As is known, this is a major problem for the compulsory controls known to date. The present arrangement therefore eliminates the throttling that occurs with the previously known positive controls with their disadvantageous consequences for the economic efficiency of the machine.
The invention is shown in an exemplary embodiment in the drawing.
As can be seen from the same, one of the two cranks b is on the one hand at a

The spindle head works in a straight line to absorb the lateral forces caused by the action of the crank b. The eccentric rod e is in turn articulated with the other Karl) el c at d, which crank has at its pivot point. This pivot point can be adjusted from the controller by means of an input gear ratio. The drawn position h, d, f of the regulator lever corresponds to the maximum filling, while the position h1, d, f1 resulting from zero lifting is indicated by dash-dotted lines

speaking. The opening takes place when the eccentric rod is moved in the direction of the arrow.
The control described is particularly advantageous for piston valve control.
The advantages of the arrangement are in particular that very favorable openings can be obtained with small eccentric dimensions. The control is suitable for high speeds and can be regulated within wide limits (from 0 to around 700f0 filling). The moving masses are very small.
The back pressure on the regulator is extremely small, especially when balanced piston valves are used.
