  Method of making weft velvet.

The subject of the invention is a method for producing weft velvet with a good covering pile cover while at the same time achieving an increased performance of the loom.

Every weft velvet has base wefts and buttocks, of which the former together with the entire warp form the base fabric on which the pile weft threads note, to form the actual upright velvet pile after they have been cut open after the fabric has been finished. Depending on the appearance of the finished velvet, a distinction is made between velvet, ribbed velvet and patterned velvet. However, they are always manufactured according to the following principles:
1. For each basic shot there is one or more pole shots.
 EMI1.1

The method forming the subject of the invention only observes the rule given below. The same is essentially characterized by the fact that a basic shot and a bottom shot of twice or more strength than the basic shot are entered into the chain at the same time.

The method is explained in more detail on the schematic drawing (FIGS. 1 to 6).

Fig. 1 is a cartridge drawing of weft velvet with a twill weave, according to the usual manufacture. The basic shots, which work in three-string twill, are shown hatched, while the bottom shots, two of which come on a basic shot, are drawn in black.
 EMI1.2
