<Desc/Clms Page number 2>
<Desc/Clms Page number 3>
<Desc/Clms Page number 4>

The invention relates to a device for covering a light or
Ventilation duct with a frame composed of leg profiles for a small-mesh covering, which engages with an edge strip in receiving grooves of the leg profiles open towards the inside of the frame and is held in the receiving grooves by clamping devices.
In order to prevent dirt and vermin from penetrating into light or ventilation shafts through a grating-like manhole cover, a frame for a small-mesh covering, for example made of a wire mesh, is placed on the grating. To fix this small-mesh covering in the mounting frame, the frame legs formed from profiles have a receiving groove running in the longitudinal direction of the leg on the inside of the frame, into which the covering engages with an edge strip and is secured against being pulled out.
For this purpose, it is known (DE 299 23 660 U1) to provide on the wall of the receiving groove associated with the frame top in the longitudinal direction a continuous recess into which the groove wall on the underside of the frame with a clamping of the edge strip of the covering between the longitudinal edges of the recess and the opposite groove wall is at least partially indented. A disadvantage of this known clamping of the covering in the receiving groove of the leg profiles of the frame is that not only the lower groove wall must be designed to be sufficiently deformable, but also the clamping effect and thus the holding of the small-mesh covering within the receiving groove depends on the respective deformation of the lower groove wall ,
To make matters worse, due to the necessary deformability,
<Desc / Clms Page number 2>
speed of the lower groove wall for the production of the press fit there is a risk that, with a corresponding load, the lower groove wall will bend downwards and release the clamped edge strips of the covering despite the groove wall deformation.
The invention is therefore based on the object of designing a device for covering a light or ventilation shaft of the type described at the outset in such a way that the small-meshed structure is not deformed subsequently
Covering can be securely and permanently anchored in the receiving grooves of the leg profiles of the frame without tools.
The invention achieves the stated object in that the clamping devices consist of a comb strip, which in the area of a groove wall is rotatably supported in a stop-limited manner about an axis running in the longitudinal direction of the respective leg profile and bears radially projecting teeth which move away from the groove opening against the opposite one Groove wall are directed.
By providing a pivotally mounted in the area of a groove wall
Comb strip the covering can be held in a simple manner between the teeth of the comb strip which at least partially engage in the mesh of the covering and the groove wall opposite the comb strip. The teeth directed away from the groove opening against the groove wall opposite the comb strip and projecting radially from the comb strip, which teeth are pivoted away by the edge of the covering from the opposite groove wall when the covering is inserted and therefore do not hinder the insertion of the covering into the frame , when trying to pull the small-mesh covering back out of the respective leg profile, they are carried along by the covering and increasingly pressed against the opposite groove wall,
so that in addition to the form-fitting support by the teeth which at least partially engage in the mesh of the covering, a non-positive connection results, which requires a clamping of the edge strip of the covering which engages in the receiving groove and is increased with the tensile load of the covering. The only requirement is that the length of the
<Desc / Clms Page number 3>
Teeth are matched to the width of the receiving groove in order to obtain a secure clamping of the covering. This is regularly the case if the length of the tooth area protruding into the groove is greater than the width of the receiving groove in the comb strip area.
Particularly simple constructional relationships result if the comb strip consists of a round rod that supports the teeth and is inserted into a cylindrical recess in the groove wall, because in this case no additional structural measures need to be taken to pivot the comb strip in the area of the one Store the groove wall of the grooves.
So that after inserting the edge strips of the covering into the receiving grooves of the leg profiles, the teeth of the comb strip must be in contact with the
If the covering is covered, a torque can be applied to the terminal strip by a weight or spring load in the sense of the teeth bearing against the opposite groove wall. If the comb strip is mounted in the area of the upper groove wall of the receiving grooves, such a torque results from the weight of the teeth of the comb strip, which makes additional measures unnecessary.
The subject matter of the invention is shown in the drawing, for example. 1 shows a device according to the invention for covering a light or ventilation shaft in sections in a cross section of a leg profile of the frame before the insertion of a small-mesh covering, and FIG. 2 shows a representation of the device according to the invention corresponding to FIG. 1 with inserted covering.
The device which can be placed on a grating of a manhole cover has a frame 1 which is composed of leg profiles 2, with the aid of corner angles which are used in hollow chambers 3 of the miter-cut leg profiles 2. The leg profiles 2 form one against that
<Desc / Clms Page number 4>
Receiving groove 4 open towards the inside of the frame for a small-mesh covering 5 of the frame 1, which can consist, for example, of a wire mesh, a wire mesh or a grid. To clamp an edge strip 6 within the receiving groove 4, in the region of the groove wall 7 belonging to the upper side of the frame 1, a comb bar 8 which can be rotated with limit stops is provided, which consists of a round rod 9 with radially projecting teeth 10.
The round rod 9 is cylindrical in a continuous manner in the longitudinal direction of the leg profile 2
Recess 11 inserted axially, the teeth 10 being directed away from the slot opening 12 against the slot wall 13 on the underside of the frame and having a radial length which ensures that the teeth 10 abut the opposite wall 13.
If a covering 5 with the edge strip 6 is now inserted into the receiving groove 4 through the groove opening 12, the comb strip 8 is removed from the bottom groove wall 13 in from the basic position shown in FIG. 1 by the edge of the edge strip 6 abutting the teeth 10 the position shown in broken lines in FIG. 2 is pivoted, in which the passage of the edge strip 6 into the receiving groove 4 is released.
Since a back torque acts on the comb strip 8 due to the weight load on the teeth, the teeth 10 of the comb strip 8 remain in contact with the edge strip 6 of the covering 5, so that when the covering 5 is subjected to a tensile load in the direction of the arrow 14, the part of the mesh of the edge strip 6 penetrating teeth 10 can be pivoted against the opposite groove wall 13 while the comb strip 8 is turned back, the teeth 10 penetrating deeper into the meshes and holding the edge strip 6 non-positively and positively between them and the opposite groove wall 13. The frame 1 with the covering 5 used in this way can then be placed on a manhole cover made of a grating, the connection to the grating being facilitated via a connection profile 15.
