a wheel 80 connected to the support 81 acts. The support 81 is attached to the slide plate 82 made in one piece with the table.
The machine is completed by a switch, not shown in FIGS. 2 and 3, which will be described in detail below and which takes the place of the switch 22 shown schematically in FIG. This switch distributes the current of the electrical power source 4 successively in each of the 16 electromagnets 6 while the contact is made. pin 8 on the plate 1 by a certain fraction of the entire length of the same moves. This fraction is determined by the number of row pairs of holes with which the pattern scale is to be provided. It is therefore the same in the present example

Corresponds to paper.
In order to achieve an exactly simultaneous displacement of the contact pin 8 and the electromagnets 6, the contact pin can be carried by the supports 70 which effect the displacement of the electromagnets. The cliché can be fastened to the frame of the machine and must be attached in such a way that it can be moved under the contact pin so that, after the contact pin has run completely over the cliché, it can be easily advanced for the subsequent sliding over of the same. This cliché can also be made in a cylindrical shape and move regularly under a fixed pin.
The individual parts of the machine work together in the following way: At the start of a rotation of the shaft 73, the electromagnets 6 stand one after the other in front of the armature 9,
EMI4.2
The work process takes place completely automatically and immediately according to the cliché of the original drawing, without the need to manufacture a special cartridge.
How easy it is to convince yourself. The machine described above only punches holes in the sample card that correspond to those areas of the cliché that are formed by recesses filled with an insulating agent, so that they do not allow the electric current to pass. On the other hand, they leave unperforated all those surfaces of the sample card that correspond to the metallic surfaces of the cliché with which the contact pin comes into contact.
It can be seen that certain parts of the cliché in the sample card create parts that are completely perforated and that other parts of the cliché create certain other parts; ever cause the card that is not punched at all (corresponding to the lifting

be raised or lowered. When applying the invention to sample cards for power looms, a similar footstep drive of the harness is unnecessary for reasons of the strong tension of the warp threads and the working conditions of the looms, which make the use of separate shafts impossible.
In this case it is necessary to provide perforated or non-perforated parts according to the binding in the sample card itself, which is used to reproduce the drawing. In other words: if the contact pin sliding on the cliché meets metallic surfaces and thereby closes the circuit of all electromagnets one after the other, it is necessary to provide means to prevent the excitation of those electromagnets that are designed to make the necessary holes for lifting the to produce threads corresponding to the desired type of weave.
If, on the other hand, the contact pin slides over isolated surfaces of the cliché, it is necessary to activate certain electromagnets, which are then intended to prevent certain holes from being made in the sample card.
For this purpose, the switch already mentioned:? 2 (Fig. 1), which is used to send the current in succession to each of the electromagnets of the machine, one or more secondary switches connected.
These secondary switches provide a direct power supply to certain contact plates of the main switch and cause a constant interruption of the circuit in other contact plates according to the requirements of the binding, so that certain electromagnets, whatever the current distribution may be according to the course of the contact pin over the cliché, during when the main switch is actuated, it must always be switched on or always switched off.

If the secondary switch f were not available, the current coming from the battery b and passing through the cliché f and the contact pin e would be sent directly to the arm h of the main switch, from where it would be successively transferred to the contact by turning the arm.

would depend solely on the position of the contact pin c on the cliché a, d. H. from touching this pen with metal parts or with isolated parts of the table. Al r-u would only contain the perforations of the card corresponding to the drawing to be reproduced. These working conditions are changed by switching on the secondary switch f.
It is easy to see that in the position shown in FIG. 5 the current for the secondary switch / comes from the battery b. after going through cliché a and pen c,

The diagram (FIG. 9) shows the "weave obtained by the arrangement according to FIG. 5. This weave has a repeat of eight threads. In this weave, which is well known in weaving, for example the 1st and The 9th chain thread, then the 17th, 25th, etc. are held down, each time skipping eight threads, while the 5th, 13th, 21st, etc.
Thread needs to be lifted. So that under these conditions, the needle, which corresponds to the chain threads that are to be lowered, not operated by the knives of the jacquard machine
EMI7.2
As a result, it is also necessary that the arm J, during its rotation, by going over the contact plates y, etc., labeled 1 and 9, sends current to the corresponding electromagnets 1 and 9, even if the pin is at that moment c slides over an isolated part on the cliché n. This result is obtained by having the movable

machine lift the corresponding boards at this moment, the presence of corresponding holes in the sample card is necessary, even if at that moment the contact pin c goes over a metallic part of the cliché a.
This result is achieved thanks to the fact that the second recess m5 is located opposite the pin m7 which cooperates with that contact plate j whose wires k. kil open into contact plates J and 7J of switch d. Since in this case, due to the lack of a connection between the pins m7 and m10, the current cannot enter the conductors k, k1, the corresponding electromagnets J and 13 remain de-energized and, as a result, the corresponding blocking plates cannot be moved the punch punch the sample card in the desired hole. change according to the type of binding.

thread z. B. can use electromagnet no. 1 again and to move the 21st chain thread the electromagnet no. 5. But as soon as the repeat of the desired weave is no longer a multiple or a measure of the number of electromagnets used in the machine. it is no longer like that. This is e.g. B. the case with ties according to the schemes (Fig. 13). in which the five-thread repeat is assumed.
In this case, the electromagnets that must be turned on or off sequentially are numbered 1, 6, 11, 16, etc. and 5, 10, 15, 20, etc. It is then necessary to complete the sub-switch / with a second sub-switch p, which is shown in FIGS. 11 and 12.

effect. As for the sub-switch p, it is given a number of rings r which corresponds to the number of pins of the sub-switch f (five in the present example). Each of these rings is connected by a conductor k to the corresponding pin of the switch f.
The switch p also has a ring of contact pieces s, with which the conductors t are directly connected, which after passing through the main switch d already described, end in the electromagnets e (1 to 16). In the contact ring s rotates a disk ei (FIG. 12) which carries a number of contact pieces v corresponding to the number of rings r.
These contact pieces v can come into contact with the corresponding ring r through a projection i, 'and each contact piece v can be connected to the contact ring s by a lamella v2 as it rotates.
It is easy to see that the required current distribution would not be achieved if the secondary switch p were missing. In the position of the switch f shown in FIG. 10, it can be determined that the line to the electromagnet 1 is always connected to the power source cder to the battery b thanks to the line m9, if under these conditions the contact j corresponding to the pin m6 is directly connected the contact plate 1 of the switch d were connected, this switch would only send current to the electromagnet 1 with one complete revolution as soon as the contact arm h is over the contact marked 1
