System for pressurizing and maintaining auxiliary steam boilers.
The subject matter of the invention is a system which is used to pressurize and hold auxiliary steam generators without any particular expenditure of fuel and which can be used, for example, in mixed electricity plants (water and steam power). The invention pursues the purpose that during the operation of the work machines by a

Such systems are known in which a heat accumulator is fed by a boiler that is heated by an excess of an electrical current, i.e. during the moments in which the current is not fully utilized, as is sometimes the case with electrical light or power plants Case is The stored heat is then used, if necessary, to pressurize and operate auxiliary boilers. According to the invention

to put storage directly under pressure by the excess electricity.
The drawing shows an example of a system for auxiliary water

The auxiliary position consists of the water pipe boilers a, b ... with a common feed line e, which is also connected to a Varmespeicher d, which is stored via a boiler e with electrical resistance.

The system works as follows: Boilers a and b and heat storage tank d are filled up to a certain height using feed valves that are provided on the lower parts. During the night and during certain times of the day when the electricity supplied by the hydropower plant is not fully used, the surplus is in the

The boilers mentioned then circulate until the water in them is brought to a temperature which corresponds to the desired maximum pressure. Now let taps m. M, t, f and x closed, whereby the connection of the electric boiler e with the auxiliary operating units a and b is interrupted.
Then the suction tap h between the pump and the heat accumulator d is opened, as is the tap z, which is attached to the upper part of the electric boiler e. The water sucked into the heat accumulator goes to

flow in. This circulation is interrupted as soon as the water contained in the heat storage tank has reached a suitable temperature which corresponds to the desired maximum pressure.
It is then sufficient to send a small amount of electricity into the electric boiler in order to keep the heat accumulator and the auxiliary boiler under pressure by alternately performing the valve setting described in a suitable manner.
If there is a malfunction in the hydroelectric power station, so that the hill system has to be put into operation, the fires of boilers a and b are lit, but the machines can be fed immediately by simply opening the shut-off valves on the boiler and the heat accumulator. The pressure difference that exists between the system and the operating pressure of the machine which is to be fed causes an instantaneous evaporation of the water with sufficient pressure to start the machine until the fires are fully effective.
If necessary, the system can also be used to increase the output of the plant. For this purpose, the boilers a and b are fed with the water contained in the heat storage tank d, the increased temperature of which considerably increases the evaporation capacity of the boiler. During such use of the auxiliary steam generator, the electric boiler e is switched off from the circuit in order to prevent heat loss which would otherwise occur due to unnecessary heating of the water contained in it.
The advantages of the system are as follows: The connection of the electric boiler e by means of two pipes, on the one hand with the heat accumulator d and on the other hand with the auxiliary steam boilers a and b, allows the whole plant to be more economical, since the auxiliary boilers a and b and the heat accumulator d can be kept under pressure by the heating effect of the surplus of electricity without spending any fuel directly.
Furthermore, as mentioned, the electric boiler can be switched off immediately as soon as the auxiliary steam generator is put into operation, whereby the economy is further increased, since the steam generator then does not need to heat the water contained in the electric boiler.
The boiler and the heat accumulator can be used with any other liquid, e.g. B. a saturated or unsaturated solution are fed.
The new system can be used in all cases in which any force
