Suspension and guy isolator with linked suspension.

It is known that the electrical breakdown strength and the mechanical breaking strength in the case of insulators made from ceramic mass do not increase proportionally with the thickness of the body. In order to achieve greater strengths, therefore, one often uses several cullet thicknesses in series.

In the known post insulators, these requirements have been achieved by assembling the insulators from several parts.

Instead of the post insulators that were only used in the past, suspension insulators are now used for higher voltages. Because of the security against falling cables, suspension insulators with chained suspension are preferable to all others. Up to now, however, these insulators could only be made from a single thickness at the interlinking point. This thickness of the fragment, which is also heavily stressed by pressure, often led to the breakdown of the insulator even with very small manufacturing defects (air bubbles and the like).

Furthermore, the friction under great pressure can cause the glaze of the body to be

entirely eliminated by the present invention. This consists in creating one or more cavities between the channels accommodating the interlinking links, which make it easier to produce the bodies with dense, well-burnt-out fragments and increase the dielectric strength by dividing the fragments at the pressure point with the interposition of cavities. The cavities can also. like the channels, to accommodate the
