   Bei dem Verfahren zur Erzeugung endothermischer Gasreaktionen, insbesondere für die Darstellung von Stickoxyd aus Luft, sind hörnerartig gestaltete Elektroden in Gebrauch, welche zur Herbeiführung einer grösseren Lebensdauer mit   Kühlkanälen   versehen sind, durch welche ein Strom von kaltem Wasser fliesst und   einen beträchtlichen   Teil der erzeugten Wärme abführt. Es sind nun die eigentlichen Elektroden aus drei Teilen hergestellt, von denen der obere und der untere Teil mit der Flamme wenig in   Berührung   kommt, der mittlere Teil hingegen durch die heisse Flamme stark abgenutzt wird bzw. abbrennt. 



   Nach Fig. 1 ist eine derartige Elektrode im Prinzip aufgezeichnet. Das Stück a stellt die   auswechselbare Mittelelektrode,   die   Stücke   b   und c die feststehenden oberen   und unteren Elektroden dar. Die Mittelelektrode wird mittels Flansch bei den Stellen d und e an die   feststehenden Elektroden angeschraubt.   Ist nun die Fläche 'soweit abgebrannt, dass sie nicht mehr gebraucht werden kann, so wird die   Elekrode um 1R ( um   die gedachte
