Reinforcement for Elsen concrete pillars consisting of individual circular metal rings or wire spirals.
The object of the invention is a reinforcement for columns, pillars and the like. Made of concrete, which can also be used for existing supports; It consists of individual circular metal rings or wire spirals, which are laid in such a way that each of the rings C or wire spiral, which are offset from one another and are eccentrically arranged with respect to the column axis, rests against the core B of the column, which is made of metal or another material. With the arrangement mentioned, it should be noted that the area enclosed by each ring is reduced by stretching the ring in the direction perpendicular to the column axis.
The rings can also be connected and arranged in such a way that not the area enclosed by them, but rather the areas enclosed by the parts of the individual rings that overlap one another are reduced by stretching the rings in the direction of the column radius. If the reinforcement is to be used to reinforce existing pillars, this pillar already forms the core. In this case, the rings are made with overlapping ends so that they can be placed around the core. The laying of the rings is expediently carried out alternately around the core in such a way that they are opposite one another, their perpendicular distances being selected according to the stress.
The rings are placed in the plastic concrete mass, which is placed between formwork, or they are initially attached in the desired position, after which the concrete can be poured.
The subject of the invention is shown in an exemplary embodiment in the drawing.
The column outline is indicated by the line A and in the exemplary embodiment according to FIG. 1 and a solid core, in FIG. 3 a hollow core is used. Each ring encloses a certain amount of concrete which is subjected to pressure by the action of external forces acting radially and which therefore strives to change the ring shape and thus to reduce the area enclosed by the ring. A radial load therefore causes tensile stresses in the ring. In this way, the two materials are used to absorb the stresses in accordance with their mechanical properties, namely the metal1 to absorb the tensile stresses, the iteton to absorb the compressive stresses. As a result of the support points of the ring on the column core, they resist any radial outward displacement.
The amount by which the rings are offset from one another in the ground plan and their height spacing must take account of the load and the
Strength of the concrete as well as the external shape of the column can be adjusted accordingly. Of course, these conditions only apply as long as the rings have one
Have a shape that the area enclosed by them is reduced by radial expansion of the ring. In the exemplary embodiments described above, the column core consists of a uniform axial metal body. The invention can also apply to such
Columns with split cores can be applied.
As already mentioned, the rings lying vertically one above the other can be replaced with the same success, wire spirals, each turn of which lies against the core.
