<Desc/Clms Page number 3>

The invention relates to an electric motor that can be connected to other components in a modular system.
It is known to attach various other components, such as brakes, (external) fans or pulse generators to electric motors in order to adapt the motor to the intended use.
The DD 262 263 A relates to a pump that consists of several modules, each consisting of a casing tube, shaft and impeller. Depending on the head requirements, more or fewer such modules are attached to the drive motor of the pump. The shafts driving the impellers of the individual pumps of each module are connected via the slide bush assigned to each impeller. How the connection of the shafts of the individual modules of the pump according to DD 262 263 is to be carried out in detail is not shown or explained.
JP 59-156147 A shows the possibility of coupling several flat motors, each of the same design, to one another by connecting the shafts to one another. The coupling of the shafts of the motors takes place by means of a gear-shaped projection at one end of the shaft of each motor, which engages in a corresponding recess with a star-shaped cross section at the other end of the shaft of an adjacent motor.
DE 24 18 242 A shows a drive consisting of two coupled electric motors, the shaft of a motor being hollow from the rotor shafts of the motors and receiving a conical extension at the end of the other motor shaft in its conically widening end. In order to secure this connection, a clamping screw is provided which penetrates the hollow rotor shaft and engages a threaded hole in the conical part of the other rotor shaft.
The invention has for its object to provide a modular system for an electric motor, with which the retrofitting and retrofitting of the electric motor is particularly easy.
According to the invention, this object is achieved with an electric motor with the features of claim 1.
Preferred and advantageous embodiments of the modular system according to the invention are the subject of the dependent claims.
With the modular system according to the invention for the electric motor, it is possible to connect further components to its shaft, and more than one further component can also be attached. For example, it is possible to equip an electric motor equipped according to the invention with further components, also designed according to the invention, such as a brake, a pulse generator and / or a (third-party) fan.

sten. In one embodiment, it is also possible to install combinations of additional components on the electric motor. For example, the encoder with an (external) fan or the brake with an (external) fan or the brake with an encoder u. Like. Be combined.
Further details, features and advantages of the design according to the invention of an electric motor with a modular system for further parts to be attached result from the following description, in which reference is made to the attached drawing, in which an electric motor is shown schematically with components that can optionally be attached to it.
In the drawing, a (standard) motor of size 80 is only partially shown, namely at its B-side (ventilation-side) end. The end cap covering this side of the engine is also only partially shown.
In the drawing, an electric motor 1 is shown at the top left, on which a brake 2 of any type is attached. For this purpose, the shaft stub 3 provided in the brake 2 has been screwed into a corresponding bore 4 (see FIG. 1, bottom left) of the rotor shaft 5 of the electric motor 1. In addition, the brake 2 can be connected to the B-side bearing plate 6 for securing and to better absorb torques when braking, for. B. by a connecting screw in
<Desc / Clms Page number 3>
a threaded hole 7 engages in the bearing plate 6, be screwed.
The illustration in the drawing at the top left shows that the end 8 of the stub shaft 3 of the brake 2 facing away from the motor 1 also has a threaded bore 1 to which further components, such as a transmitter 10 and / or a (third-party) fan, can be attached if required 11 screwed and can be attached to the motor 1.
If no brake 2 is to be docked to the motor 1, an encoder 10 or a (third-party) fan 11 can be attached directly to the threaded bore 4 in the rotor shaft 5. However, it is also possible to use the transmitter 10 in combination with the (external) fan 11, as is indicated in the drawing on the right.
All components that can be attached to the electric motor 1, i.e. brake 2, encoder 10 and (external) fan 11, have a shaft stub 3, which has a threaded bolt 12 at one end, which is screwed into the threaded bore 4 in the rotor shaft 5 can be. At the other end, each stub shaft 3 has a threaded bore 9, into which the threaded bolt 12 on the stub shaft 3 of another component is screwed when additional components are attached. If no further component is screwed on, the threaded bore 4 or 9 can be closed by a threaded bolt 13.
As shown in the drawing, there are various possibilities for supplementing the motor 1 according to the invention with the modular system according to the invention by the components and combinations thereof which are desired in each case. Special changes to the engine itself are not necessary. It is only advantageous if the protective cap 15 is adapted to the axial dimension of the additional components.
In summary, a preferred embodiment of the electric motor according to the invention can be described as follows:
In order to be able to equip an electric motor 1 optionally with one or more further components, such as a brake 2, a pulse generator 10 and / or a fan 11, each component 2, 10, 11 is equipped with a stub shaft 3, which at one end has a threaded bolt 12 and a threaded bore 9 at the other end. The stub shaft 3 can be screwed into a threaded bore 4 of the rotor shaft.
