Da überdies vorgesehen ist, dass der Behälter beispielsweise die Form eines Quaders aufweist, kann der Behälter zusammen mit anderen gleichartigen Behältern in eine grundsätzlich beliebige Höhe gestapelt werden, sodass beispielsweise mit nur drei Behältern ein Sammelvolumen von 60 Litern oder mehr auf einer kleinen Standfläche von wenigen hundert Quadratzentimetern erreicht werden kann. Die erforderliche Standfläche für eine effiziente Mülltrennung ist somit minimiert. Die vorgesehene seitliche Öffnung, die vorerst auch geschlossen sein kann, erlaubt es dann, in einen einzelnen Behälter des Stapels speziellen Müll einzuordnen, wobei der Stapel bzw. die denselben bildenden Behälter positioneil unverändert bleiben können. Dabei ist durch die Ausbildung der Öffnung an einer der kürzeren Seitenwände sichergestellt, dass auch längliche Gegenstände, z. B. Kunststoffflaschen, in einen der Behälter des Stapels eingeworfen werden können. Zusätzlich ist auch im Vergleich mit Systemen von Behältern, die zwar in die Höhe bauen, deren Behälter allerdings zum Einfüllen von Müll um eine horizontale Achse auszuklappen sind, eine Platzersparnis gegeben. Zeigt sich, dass der Stapel im Haushalt besser an einer anderen Stelle platziert werden sollte, an welcher mehr Müll anfällt, so kann der Stapel rasch an dieser Stelle neu aufgestellt werden.
