Verfahren zur Vergasung kleinkörniger oder staubförmiger Brennstoffe in Generatoren. dadurch gekennzeichnet, dass die Brennstoffsäule in zwei oder mehr übereinander angeordnete, gesonderte, relativ mässig mächtige Schichten geteilt und durch die von unten eingeblasene Verbrennungsluft eine stufenweise Vergasung und Entgasung in der Weise herbeigeführt wird, dass in der untersten Brennstoffschicht eine Verbrennung und getrennt hievon in den höheren glühenden Schichten die Vergasung des Brennstoffes und die Entgasung der durch diese Schichten geführten Verbrennungsprodukte bewirkt wird.
