Spool for embroidery machine boats.
The bobbins for the shuttles of embroidery machines have so far been made from double and triple twisted spun threads. Spools produced in this way have the following disadvantage, however: the twisted threads are not round, but rather show in their cross-sections two or three touching circles, depending on whether two or three spun threads have been twisted together. The two or three roving threads experience a twist (twist) around the middle of their common cross section, a rotation whose direction is opposite to that of the twisting of the roving thread.
If such a thread is passed through a thread brake or over edges with a short rounding under tension, part of its twisting drill remains in such a way that it is removed from the braked part of the fadon and shifted after the one that has not yet been braked, i.e. H. is added there. This shift of the twisted twist

and the stronger the pressure, or the shorter the curve of the edge over which the thread is drawn under tension.
The thread brake has a similar effect on the thread as the mother of the American twist drill does on its spindle: The backward movement of the needle drill by the thread brake causes revolutions of the unbraked thread which is located at the beginning of the thread brake. Now the thread just happens when it is pulled out of the inside of the shuttle spool, through the shuttle, both such a thread brake and briefly rounded edges, which are able to cause the twisting drill to slip back into the interior of the spool.
This creates on the Schiffcht'n thread in the one created by pulling it in the bobbin

of the shuttle cannot pass, so that thread breaks occur. The formation of these rails is primarily promoted by the twisted thread. depending on the strength of the spun or Twist drills anyway more or less inherent @wildness "m that means a tendency to kink, on the other hand due to the fibers protruding radially from the twisted thread (surface fluff), in such a way that they grasp and hold in the winding parts that have become loose during the rotation of the thread within the bobbin. As a result of occurrence

same, large loss of yarn (waste).
The object of the invention for embroidery machine spool avoids these inconveniences in that it consists only of a simple, non-twisted spun thread, in contrast to the previously known and generally used in shuttle embroidery manufacture. which has been finished and smoothed in such a way that its surface fluff is at the

If it runs off through thread brakes and over short rounded edges, a backward movement of his drill in the sense of the formation of # kinkles ", # / loops" and #knots "no longer takes place. The finish means that the thread's wildness is more or less inherent in any case, ie . H.
The tendency to kinkle is eliminated and, as a result of the associated smoothing of the thread, the protruding fibers are also placed on the thread body and thus rendered harmless.
The twist of the simple spun thread forming such a bobbin for embroidery machine boats runs in the opposite direction of the twisting twist of the previously usual shuttle yarn, while its winding direction in the spool is opposite to the winding direction in the previously usual shuttle bobbins.
