 desired final states etc. namely:
1. according to the given circumstances, d. H. Mixing ratio etc. possible maximum concentration of nitric acid on the one hand and 2. the expulsion of the last traces of nitric acid from the sulfuric acid on the other hand.

It may appear that the process is identical to the known denitration. However, there can be absolutely no doubt that the results obtained in denitration in particular rule out the prospect of rational concentration of aqueous nitric acid by means of sulfuric acid and removal by steam, because on the one hand a nitric acid of at most 6.20 / 0 is obtained from a denitration acid and on the other hand, the sulfuric acid flowing out of the denitration drum has to be treated with so much steam that its concentration is reduced to 650 / u '77 S 0, or better still further.

The best result is achieved by using a mixture of nitric acid and
 EMI2.2
it is true that all nitric acid is obtained completely and without any after-run as a high-percentage acid, a success that has not been achieved with any previously known concentration method, nor with the usual method of denitration and the starting materials used.

The simplest way to carry out the process is to put the mixture at the top, while the dried steam is introduced at the bottom in a vertical tube, charged with appropriate packing, of cross-section and length in relation to the quantity processed. to overheat the water vapor, but the overheating is of no importance to the essence of the process.
