Could be blocked, the pipe can be set up movable in a horizontal plane so that the position of the inlet of the lifting pipe can be changed. For this purpose, the tube can at one end immersed in the upper channel, e.g. B. around a rod 17 (Fig. 4), can be rotatably arranged, wherein the other, immersed in the channel end of the pipe by means of a chain 18 or the like. Can be suspended from the rod, so that the mouth of the pipe about

In order to be able to dig the pipe out of the water (at high water), it can, as FIG. 3 shows, be rotatably mounted in a bearing J5 in the vertical direction. In this case, the pipe end immersed in the water to be removed can be provided with a float 16, which means that the suction opening of the pipe is always immersed at different water levels.

In order to fill the siphon tube with water to put the device into operation, it is evacuated by means of a hand pump, preferably a rotary pump.

In order to keep the siphon pipe filled to start the engine when there is a standstill, it is sufficient to shut off the siphon pipe in a known manner at one point or at both points by means of flaps or slides 10 (Fig. 1) or a gate ( Fig. 1 and 2), by means of which the channel can be shut off behind the pipe so that it is kept under water lock.

In many cases, the facilities described above make it possible to utilize water power that would otherwise lie fallow. The individual devices described can be combined in various ways.
