Shot counters for handguns and guns.
The invention forms a device that enables a quick and reliable determination of the shots fired by a troop in combat BEZW. the still available ammunition and both for handguns as aucl. can be used for guns without having to change anything on the weapon or the gun.
The shot counter essentially consists of a counter which is inevitably connected to a movable part of the breech in such a way that the counter records each time the breech is actuated and thus the number of shots fired. The movable part of the lock acts on a displaceable rod which, by means of a ratchet, controls the counter each time it is moved by actuating the lock

In the drawing, the subject matter of the invention is illustrated in two exemplary embodiments.
Figs. 1 to 4 illustrate an embodiment useful for handguns, while the
Figures 5 to 8 show an embodiment intended for guns.
Fig. 1 illustrates the arrangement of the shot counter on a handgun.
2 and 3 show the shot counter in a view with the cover removed in two different positions and

Fig, 5 illustrates the shot counter in the version for guns in view,
6 in the same representation with the cover removed,
FIG. 7 shows a detail in plan view and FIG. 8 is the same representation as FIG. 6 with the counting wheels missing.
The shot counter is housed in a housing a, which is closed by means of a cover b so that all parts of the counter are in a completely protected position. The housing is attached to the base and holder screw on the handle side of the handheld gun by means of rags, so it can be attached to any firearm without the slightest change. The shot counter is set by means of a part of the closure, according to the exemplary embodiment by means of the handle knob web. actuated. against which a sleeve c rests on the end of the actuating

is.
On the rear tapered end of the rod d sits a helical spring j, which is supported on the one hand against the thicker part of the rod d and on the other hand against the bearing block of the rod d and brings it back to the starting position after each shift. A pawl h is rotatably mounted on the rod d and engages in a ratchet wheel i which is rotatably mounted on a pin j. The pawl h is held in engagement with the ratchet wheel i by means of a spring hl. Unintentional rotation of the ratchet wheel i is prevented by a displaceably mounted counter pawl k which is under spring action.
On the ratchet wheel i, which has ten teeth, sits a counting disk 1, which bears digits from 0 to 9 on its upper side according to the teeth and shows the number of teeth by which the ratchet wheel has been rotated.
The counting disk 1 has a shoulder m which is opposite the tenth tooth and which advances the tens wheel n by one tooth for every tenth revolution of the counting disk 1 for the units.
The tens wheel n is prevented from unintentional rotation by a counter pawl o, du'on a displaceable spring-loaded slider p is provided, the right end of which lies in the path of the extension m of the counting disk l, so that the slide before switching the tens wheel p is pushed back and the mating pawl o is brought out of engagement with the wheel, but is automatically returned to the engaged position by the action of the spring after switching.
When the shot counter is to come into effect, the case c is on the end of the
Rod d moved so far that its end rests on the handle knob web and in this position

is pushed back and after the ratchet wheel i has been turned, it falls into the next tooth gap. With every tenth shift, the approach m of the counting disk I first presses against the end of the slider bearing the counter pawl o and pushes it to the left (Fig. 3),

pushed out and so the shot counter is operated, or its arrangement is upright, made such that the two-armed lever 10 is depressed each time the crank of the gun breech is operated.
As a result, the angle lever v is rotated and the rod d is displaced to the left, overcoming the tension of the spring i, whereby the ratchet wheel i is rotated by one tooth by means of the switching pawl h. The rest of the device of the shot counter corresponds to that of the embodiment described, and the effect of the device is also the same as that of the embodiment according to FIGS. 1 to 4.
