<Desc/Clms Page number 2>

The invention relates to a mixing device for fuel gas and air, preferably for heaters.
In vollvormischenden heaters, the fuel gas is very often introduced into an air intake in front of a blower. Although the fan provides significant turbulence, however, it does not result in a complete mixing of fuel gas and air. Rather, it should be noted that, especially at low fan speeds, fuel gas streams, as in the past, still pass through the blower in a mixture that is less than one twine. As a result, a surface burner has a very rich mixture at various points and a very lean mixture at other points. The rich spots usually lead to high combustion temperatures, which in turn results in high nitrogen oxide levels. Excessively airy, lean places have a low combustion temperature and consequently high carbon monoxide emissions.
The invention has for its object to provide a simple way the best possible mixing of fuel gas and air.
From DE 1 290 650 B it is known that fuel gas is injected centrally in countercurrent in an air stream. EP 896 191 A2 discloses a vertical injection of fuel gas into an air stream before entering a blower. There is the risk that fat fuel gas "threads" pass through the blower. "US 5 540 583 A shows that turbulence of a mixture leads to turbulences which promote thorough mixing and there is no indication of a uniform injection of WO 2002/077526 A1 also deals with the mixing of fuel gas and air, but gives no indication of an inventive mixing.
According to the invention this is achieved in a mixing device of the type mentioned by the characterizing features of the independent claim. For this purpose, the fuel gas is centrally injected into a mixing device through which at least a portion of the combustion air is passed, and passed to a Umlenkkontur, whereby the fuel gas reaches the outer edge of the mixing device. As a result, the fuel gas flow and the air flow intersect, which causes mixing.
According to the features of claim 2, there is the advantage that the fuel gas can be targeted continuously deflected to the side, resulting in a controlled flow and thus mixing occurs.
Due to the features of the characterizing part of claim 3 it is achieved that, in addition to the mixing action of the mixing device, the downstream fan ensures effective mixing.
According to the features of claim 4, there is the advantage that components can be interconnected. So the Umlenkkontur is part of the fan of the blower. This results in the advantage that within the fan, the fuel gas flow takes place radially outward and thereby the mixing effect is enhanced.
According to the features of claim 5, there is the advantage that the fuel gas line can be placed at a defined location, which always results in reproducible good mixing results.
According to the features of claim 6, there is the advantage that it comes to a component reduction. If the Umlenkkontur and Rohfixierung made in one piece, so also reduce the component costs.
The invention will now be explained in more detail with reference to the drawings. 1 shows a heater with a mixing device according to the invention, FIG. 2 shows a fan with a mixing device according to the invention, FIG. 3 shows the mixing device in detail, FIG. 4 shows the core of the mixing device 4 and FIG another perspective.
FIG. 1 shows a heating device with a mixing device according to the invention. The device has a burner 8, which is located centrally within a heat exchanger 9. The burner 8, a fan 2 is connected upstream. On the inlet side of the blower 2 is the mixing device 4 according to the invention; this protrudes a fuel gas line. 3
From Figure 2 shows that the fuel gas line 3 is inserted centrally into the mixing device 4. The fuel gas line 3 is centrally positioned by means of a pipe fixation 5. this will
<Desc / Clms Page number 2>
also clear from the section of the mixing device in Figure 3. The fuel gas line 3 opens into the mixing device 4. Between the Umlenkkontur 6 and the exit from the fuel gas line 3 is a distance. 7
During operation of the heater 1, combustion air is sucked in by the blower 2 through the mixing device 4. Fuel gas flows via the fuel gas line 3 in the mixing device 4, flows to the Umlenkkontur 6 and is selectively deflected to the outside. Fuel gas and air then pass into the blower 2 and are further mixed there, then fed to the burner 8 under an overpressure. The fuel gas-air mixture is burned, then used thermally in the heat exchanger 9.
Frequently used as fuel gas natural gas, which has the majority of the gas methane (CH4). Methane, with a density of 0.7175 kg / m3, has a lower density than air (1.293 kg / m). This has the consequence that in a blower mainly the heavier gases are forced outwards, while the lighter gases remain inside. In the case of mixing devices according to the prior art, therefore, the air outside and the fuel gas tend to be found more in the inner region.
On the other hand, in a mixing device according to the invention, the fuel gas initially flows into the outside of the fan while the air is very strong in the interior. As a result of the centrifugal force, the air is then forced outwards to a greater extent, so that then a strong mixing with the outside methane occurs. Thus, in a mixing device according to the invention, a significantly better mixing than with a mixing device according to the prior art is achieved.
