<Desc/Clms Page number 2>

The invention relates to a water heating system according to the preamble of claim 1.
In known systems of this type, a priority changeover valve is provided, which is usually controlled by an electromagnet without locking, the respective position of the valve body arrangement being secured by the pressure conditions prevailing in the system after the changeover of the priority changeover valve, which in turn is ensured by the Circulation pump are determined. Priority changeover valves of this type are known, for example, from EP 608 500 A1, GB 2 148 552 A, DE 28 51 212 A1, AT 399 390 B and DE 297 20 501 U1.
This has the disadvantage that the pump has to be kept in operation at all times in order to ensure corresponding pressure differences in the system. However, this is associated with a correspondingly high demand for auxiliary energy.
The aim of the invention is to avoid these disadvantages and to propose a water heating system of the type mentioned at the outset, in which there is only a small need for auxiliary energy.
According to the invention this is achieved in a water heating system of the type mentioned by the characterizing features of claim 1.
The proposed measures ensure that the valve remains in the desired position regardless of the given pressure conditions. This also makes it possible to reduce the performance of the circulation pump during the changeover. In addition, there is no need to take the priority changeover valve into account when designing the pressure conditions in the system.
The features of claim 2 give the advantage of a very simple solution in terms of construction.
The features of claim 3 result in the advantage that the circulation pump can be controlled jointly with the drive of the priority changeover valve, wherein, as already mentioned, the control device of the circulation pump takes place regardless of the position of the priority changeover valve can.
The invention will now be explained in more detail with reference to the drawing, which schematically shows a water heating system according to the invention.
The water heating system has a primary heat exchanger 1 which is acted upon by a burner 2. The primary heat exchanger 1 is connected to a radiator arrangement (not shown) via a flow line 3 and a return line 4. The section 4 'leading to the primary heat exchanger 1 is connected to a central connection 5 of a priority changeover valve 6, a circulation pump 7 being arranged in this section 4'.
A connecting line 8 branches off from the flow line 3, in which a process water heat exchanger 9 is arranged. Furthermore, the connecting line 8 is connected to a connection 10 of the priority changeover valve 6. The second connection 11 of the priority changeover valve 6 is connected to the section 4 ″ of the return line 4 coming from the radiator arrangement (not shown).
In the interior of the priority changeover valve 6, two valve seats 12, 13 are provided, between which a valve body 14 can be moved. This valve body 14 is provided on its two end faces with seals 15 which come to rest on the valve seats 12, 13.
The valve body 14 is controlled via a valve rod 17 which is tightly guided through a wall of the valve housing 16 and is connected to an electromagnet or motor 18.
This motor 18 is connected to a control device 20 via a control line 19 and is controlled by the latter. This control device 20 is connected via a further control line 21 to a motor of the circulating pump 7 and also controls this as a function of the heat requirement and the temperature, preferably in the feed line, in order to regulate the temperature by varying the water volume flow.
When the priority changeover valve 6 is switched over, the valve seat 12 or 13 which has already flowed through is closed in each case counter to the direction of the flow to be interrupted. Thus, when switching from the position shown, in which water flows via the connecting line 8 and the valve seat 12 to the central connection 5, the valve body 14 is moved counter to the direction of flow and brought to bear on the valve seat 12, as a result of which the flow through the priority switch valve 6 from connection 11 to central connection 5
<Desc / Clms Page number 2>
takes place and flows through the radiator arrangement, not shown.
During the switchover, the output of the pump 7 can be reduced or the pump can be switched off entirely via limit switches.
The position of the valve body 14 is secured by the brake of the motor 18 or by locking an electromagnet.
