<Desc/Clms Page number 2>
<Desc/Clms Page number 3>

The invention relates to a device for introducing gas into a liquid with a housing having a liquid connection on the one hand and a gas connection on the other hand, which forms a straight flow channel connected to the gas connection and a helical flow channel connected to this straight flow channel, which preferably encloses the straight flow channel and opens into a container outlet for the gas-enriched liquid.
In order to be able to introduce gases into liquids, it is known (US Pat. No. 5,049,320 A) to provide a cylindrical housing in which the liquid to be enriched with gas flows in a screw movement around a central filter tube which is pressurized with compressed gas. To avoid the disadvantages associated with such devices, it has already been proposed (WO 97/43219 A1) to sheath the central gas supply pipe with a tubular filter fabric through which the gas is fed in a helical circulating motion to the liquid guided in the annular space between the housing and the gas supply pipe , The helical circulation flow of the liquid to be enriched with gas is forced by a helical spring inserted into the annular space.
Although this measure significantly reduces the gas pressure required to introduce the gas, these devices are particularly suitable for introducing gas into larger quantities of liquid.
The invention is therefore based on the object to provide a device for introducing gas into liquids for comparatively small amounts of liquid, such as occur, for example, in water pipes of conventional house installations, so that, for. B. such tap water can be enriched with oxygen. The device should therefore have a small size and good efficiency with the simplest possible handling.
Starting from a device for introducing gas into a liquid of the type described at the outset, the object is achieved in that the straight flow channel, which is additionally connected to the liquid connection, results in a mixing chamber between which and the gas connection depending on the liquid pressure in the flow connection between the Liquid connection and the straight flow channel actuable gas valve is provided.
The invention is based on the surprising finding that there is no need for the gas to be laboriously restricted in the liquid via a filter layer, which the liquid flows past when the gas-liquid mixture undergoes a circular movement after a simple combination of the liquid and the gas in a straight flow channel is subjected to a helical flow channel in which, under the influence of the effective centrifugal forces, there is an intimate mixing of liquid and gas with the effect that a comparatively high and permanent gas entry into the liquid can be ensured.
It is only necessary to ensure that the mixing chamber formed by the straight flow channel is connected both to the liquid connection and to the gas connection of the housing in order to obtain a corresponding premixing between the gas and the liquid. The joint supply of gas and liquid to the mixing chamber also opens up a simple handling option, because in this case the gas supply can advantageously be controlled as a function of the liquid supply.
For this purpose, it is only necessary to provide a gas valve which is actuated as a function of the liquid pressure in the flow connection between the liquid connection and the straight flow channel, so that when the liquid supply to the housing is opened, the gas supply via the gas valve is also opened automatically , The gas valve closes again when the liquid supply is blocked.
Particularly simple constructional relationships result in this connection if the gas valve is provided in an inlet chamber of the housing and consists of a membrane separating the inlet chamber from the mixing chamber, which membrane provides the spring-loaded valve seat, which is provided with at least one passage opening to the mixing chamber, for the immobilized valve seat Valve body carries, in which a gas supply line closable from the valve seat opens.
If the pressure of the liquid flowing into the inlet chamber is applied to the diaphragm, the valve seat is lifted from the valve body via the diaphragm, which on the one hand opens the passage to the mixing chamber and on the other hand opens the gas supply line leading into the valve seat so that the gas and the liquid pass through the passage opening in the valve seat in the
<Desc / Clms Page number 2>
Mixing chamber is entrained, and that at a comparatively low gas pressure. In order to prevent gas or liquid from flowing back through the gas supply line, a check valve can be provided between the gas valve and the gas connection.
Since complex mixing devices for the gas via fine-pored filters are missing, the premixing between gas and liquid in the mixing chamber remains limited. In order that the achievable mixing effect can be increased, an injector nozzle with suction openings extending from the mixing chamber can be provided on the inlet side of the mixing chamber. The injector jet of the gas-liquid mixture entering the mixing chamber through the injector nozzle injects a circulating flow of the gas-liquid mixture out of the mixing chamber via the suction openings of the injector nozzle, so that the mixing conditions improve considerably, which has an immediate effect on increasing the gas introduction rate.
So that no significant degassing of the liquid can occur when the gas-liquid flow is deflected from the straight flow channel of the mixing chamber into the helical flow channel, a baffle cone can be provided on the discharge side of the mixing chamber, which is closed at the end, which advantageously transfers the gas-liquid admixed in the helical flow channel surrounding the mixing chamber.
In order to ensure adequate treatment of the gas-liquid mixture in the helical flow channel, this flow channel is to be designed with a corresponding length. In view of the smallest possible size and the simplest design conditions, for this purpose the mixing chamber can consist of a coaxial pipe section inserted into a cylindrical housing jacket, the annular space between the pipe section and the housing jacket having an insert with a helical groove on both the housing jacket and the one Pipe piece facing side.
With this measure, a flow channel corresponding to twice the axial length of the annular space can be realized with a predetermined slope of the helical flow channel, the flow velocity and thus the effective centrifugal forces being able to be adapted to the respective requirements via the cross section of the helical grooves, for example by exchanging the insert becomes.
The subject matter of the invention is shown in the drawing, for example. Show it
Fig. 1 shows an inventive device for introducing gas into a liquid in a simplified longitudinal section and
Fig. 2 is a representation corresponding to FIG. 1 of the device in the area of the open
Gas valve.
The device shown for introducing gas into a liquid has a housing 1, which consists of a housing 2 connecting a head 2, a bottom 3 and a head 2 and bottom 3, and a pipe section 5 which is coaxial with the housing jacket 4 and is clamped between the head 2 and bottom 3 consists. The head 2 forms an inlet chamber 6, which is connected to a liquid connection 8 via flow connections 7. This inlet chamber 6 is closed by a membrane 9 which is clamped on the circumferential side between the head 2 and a support body 10 in a liquid-tight manner. The membrane 9 carries a valve seat 12 of a gas valve 13 provided with through openings 11 and interacts with a valve body 14 belonging to the head 2, into which a gas feed line 15 opens, which is connected to a gas connection 17 via a check valve 16.
The valve seat 12 is pressed against the valve body 14 by means of a closing spring 18, as a result of which not only the through openings 11 in the valve seat 12 but also the gas supply line 15 in the valve body 14 are closed, as can be seen in FIG. 1.
The flow connection between the through openings 11 of the valve seat 12 and the flow channel 19 formed by the pipe section 5 is established via an injector nozzle 20, the suction openings 21 of which extend from the flow channel 19.
The bottom 3 closes the flow channel 19 with a baffle cone 22, which ensures a gentle deflection of the gas-liquid mixture flowing through the flow channel 19, which is passed through passage openings 23 into the annular space between the housing jacket 4 and the pipe section 5. A tubular insert 24 is held in this annular space, which has a helical groove 25 both on the inside and on the outside.
These grooves 25 are connected to one another at the head side via openings 26 in the insert 24, so that
<Desc / Clms Page number 3>
between the pipe section 5 and the insert 24 and between the insert 24 and the housing jacket 4 result in helical flow channels 27 which are connected on the one hand via the passage openings 23 to the flow channel 19 and on the other hand via connection openings 28 to a container outlet 29 in the base 3.
If, after connecting the device to a water pipe and to an oxygen source, for example, the water supply line is opened, water flows via the liquid connection 8 into the inlet chamber 6, the valve seat 12 moving from the closed position shown in FIG Force of the closing spring 18 is shifted into the open position according to FIG. 2. In this open position, not only are the passage openings 11 opened, but also the gas supply line 15 is opened, which results in an oxygen inflow due to the oxygen pressure present.
Mixing the water with the inflowing oxygen leads this gas-liquid mixture through the injector nozzle 20 into the straight flow channel 19, where it is further mixed.
EMI3.1
closing helical flow channel 27 is pressed, in which the oxygen absorption of the water is advantageously continued under the action of centrifugal force, so that a water enriched with a comparatively high proportion of oxygen can be removed via the container outlet 29.
If the water supply to the liquid connection 8 is blocked, the closing spring 18 closes the gas valve 13 without the need for separate handling. An easy-to-use device is thus obtained which, with small dimensions, allows good gas entry into a liquid, with a high gas yield.
