Description

AT 404 749 BAT 404 749 B

The invention relates to a flexible, water-permeable, multi-layer mat for protection against plant roots.

It is known that copper, in particular copper foil, has a braking effect on plant roots. For large-scale shielding, especially in the case of flat roof structures, 5 bituminized roofing felt sheets with copper inlay or coarse-meshed copper nets were used for this purpose.

For example, DE 28 27 136 A1 describes a bituminized roofing membrane which consists of a fleece, a pleated metal foil, for example an aluminum or copper foil and a bitumen layer. This roofing membrane is used to seal roofs, with the metal foil being used for heat reflection. DE 42 23 761 A1 describes a bitumen roofing membrane with a synthetic fiber fleece laminated to the surface, the synthetic fiber fleece containing elemental copper to prevent root threads from growing into the bitumen layer. However, this effect as a root brake can only be very short-term with this roofing membrane, since the elemental copper quickly changes chemically due to the substrate applied (e.g. earth when creating roof gardens) and thus loses its effect as a root brake.

These waterproof, bituminized roofing membranes are relatively stiff and inflexible due to the bitumen base layer, which means that only limited widths and areas of the roofing membrane can be produced. Furthermore, the use of bitumen has the disadvantage of becoming brittle.

The covering for roofs, facades, etc. described in DE 3444669 A1 describes a 20 water-permeable composite body made of foam (see p. 6 last paragraph), the metallic outer skin mainly serving decorative purposes (see p. 5 paragraph 3), but should also increase the tensile strength and corrosion resistance of the cover. An effect against the penetration and / or penetration of roots is not mentioned.

The object of the invention is to provide a water-permeable, flexible root brake mat which can be produced over a large area, has high tensile strength and long-term root braking effect and also without hesitation in critical areas of application, for example when covering landfills, when protecting sewer structures and the like. can be used.

The invention therefore relates to a multilayer water-permeable mat as a root brake, characterized in that it consists of at least one layer of copper foil and at least one layer 30 of needle-punched nonwoven, the layers being connected to one another by needling.

The mat according to the invention can optionally have additional layers, for example fixed grains of sand to increase abrasion resistance, UV resistance and fire resistance, ash to increase fire resistance and improve punching, cork layers, plastic films, activated carbon, zeolite, porous minerals and the like. to increase the absorption capacity. Latex fabrics, 35 knitted fabrics for increasing tensile strength, thermal insulation materials, drainage materials and the like. These materials can be provided as additional layers, but can also be incorporated directly into the nonwoven layer. An increase in tensile strength can also be achieved by means of tension-resistant threads inserted or applied in the needlable nonwoven.

The copper foil can also be pretreated and / or surface-coated (or have mixed in various substances), e.g. the corrosion resistance of the mat can be increased.

The mat according to the invention has a thickness of about 0.2 to 5 cm or more. The thickness of the copper foil introduced depends on the required stability against root ingrowth and can be, for example, about 0.01 to 0.1 mm.

The choice of the basic fleece, as well as the choice of a covering and / or reinforcement layer, depends mainly on the mechanical loads to be expected. Usable nonwovens have, for example, basis weights of 100-500 g / m2.

The mat according to the invention has a significantly higher flexibility than the known bituminized root brake mat, but also a longer service life and tensile strength, so that large-scale production and use is possible. For example, mats with a width of 5 m and a length of 50 m can be easily manufactured and handled. This allows large areas to be fixed throughout. Due to the greater flexibility, however, any necessary overlaps when using multiple webs do not (but can) be connected to one another by gluing, sewing and the like.

Bei Kanalrohren wiederum können Längsstreifen der erfindungsgemäßen Wurzelbremsmatte eingebaut und anschließend der Länge nach über dem Rohr überlappend zusammenge- 2Due to its properties, the mat according to the invention can be used, for example, when covering 55 landfills or as a protective layer in sewer construction. Due to its flexibility, it adapts to the sinking and deforming landfill surface (the known bitumen roofing membranes are unsuitable for this). In the case of sewer pipes, in turn, longitudinal strips of the root brake mat according to the invention can be installed and then overlapped lengthwise over the pipe

AT 404 749 B schlagen werden. AT 404 749 B. As an alternative, the protective mat can be introduced, for example, as an insert in the pipe formwork during the manufacture of the sewer pipes, the rough fleece surface then permanently bonding to the concrete when it hardens. An example of a mat according to the invention is shown in FIG. 1. Therein 1 means an underlay fleece, which can optionally also be a woven, knitted or plastic film, 2 a copper foil, 3 a needlable fleece. In order to produce the mat, the copper foil (2), e.g. 0.032 mm, on. The fleece (3), e.g. 200 g / m2, and needles the whole package with a conventional needle machine. In doing so, barbed needles pierce the cover fleece (3) ten thousand times / m2 (preferably 5 - 80 punctures / cm2), take away from this thread, further pierce the copper foil (2), which makes it permeable to water, and the underlay fabric (1) , with which the threads of the nonwoven (3) intertwine, connect via friction and thus hold the layer package together. To improve the process, the bottom of the product can also be treated thermally or with adhesive / resin. This product is tensile, flexible, permeable to water and therefore usable as a filter, durable, abrasion-resistant, root-tested, inexpensive, light, can be cut with a knife or scissors, the copper foil is protected on both sides. As the basic version, the version described above can also be needled without underlay fleece (1), but this makes it less tensile. Furthermore, the root protection mats can have additional materials and layers. eg: sprayed on bitumen (heat resistance), fixed grains of sand (abrasion resistance, UV protection, fire resistance .....), additional glue, synthetic resin, fixed cork, plastic oils (water resistance, ..), latex, fabrics, knitted fabrics, foams, biodegradable materials, further layers of copper foil and fleece (e.g. to improve punching). These materials can also be incorporated in and / or between the layers, e.g. a layer of ash (approx. 0.5 - 12 mm, as punching improvement, fire resistance .....) between the cover fleece (3) and the copper foil (2) in variant 1. Furthermore, materials such as: activated carbon, zeolite, free-flowing (possibly porous) minerals, cork, gypsum, cement, peat, wood shavings, thermal insulation material, bentonite, sand, reinforcing thread, fire retardants, drainage materials, etc. Such mats with the same basic structure, or the corresponding variants, can also perform other functions. For example: electromagnetic shielding, thermal insulation, fire resistance, power line, grounding, packaging, component, furnishing or furniture element, resin base element, absorbent mats, remedies, covering, light shielding, etc. Claims 1.
