Condensation process for steam turbines.
The invention relates to a condensation process for steam turbines, according to which the energy of the propellant precipitated in a circulating condenser is used together with that of the condensing cooling water in a jet condenser to further increase the vacuum.
If centrifugal pumps are used to convey condensate, or condensate and cooling water from a precipitation chamber, the conveyed water always exits into the atmosphere with a greater or lesser excess pressure. The loss of this pressure head causes a reduction in the efficiency of the entire system.
The invention 7 seeks to reduce this reduction in efficiency by utilizing the kinetic energy of the accelerated amount of water in a jet condenser, which exerts a suction effect into the precipitation chamber, before it escapes into the atmosphere, and thus the vacuum by sucking off air, steam and water is increased.
The drawing shows an embodiment of a capacitor operating according to this method. This is shown in FIG. 1 in vertical section and in FIG. 2 in a section along A-B of FIG. 1 is the axis of a steam turbine and 2 is the last impeller of the same. 3 is a wheel seated on the axle 1, which is located in a space formed by the housing 4. 5 is located, which is separated from another space 6 by a seal 7. The wheel 3 has channels 8 with blades 9 which merge from the axis to the radial direction (FIGS. 2 and 3). The axially extending parts of the channels open into the space 6, to which a line 10 for cooling water is connected.
The wheel 3 also has lateral openings 11 which connect the blade spaces 8 with the space 5.
An annular diffuser 12 lies opposite the channels of the wheel 3. This diffuser connects to an annular space of the housing. A jet condenser 14 is connected to the annular space 13, the annular channel 15 of which is connected to the space 5 by lines 16.
The working principle of this circulating capacitor is as follows:

and falls down. From a2 to a1, condensate and water are conveyed on together. Air that gets into the condenser wheel with the cooling water cannot collect anywhere as it is carried on with the water. This is thus a circulating mixing condenser, which is particularly characterized by the fact that steam and cooling water are mixed, precipitated and conveyed further in the circulating part itself and that separate suction spaces and separate suction openings with blades are provided for water and steam, which enable to suck in water by turning the wheel and to initiate condensation.

The water can thus suck air, steam and water out of the room 5, so that the vacuum in this room ver.
