Process for the production of forks with handles made of wood, celluloid, horn or the like.
The present invention relates to a method for producing forks with a handle made of wood, celluloid, horn or similar material. According to this invention, the booklet is spanned by a metal band, the two free ends of which are designed as prongs and the position of the prongs, respectively. their distance from each other as well as the position of the booklet by around-resp. cast metal composition set.
The subject matter of the invention is shown in the drawing, namely: FIG. 1 floor plan of the fork in the semi-finished state: FIGS. 2 and 3 side view and floor plan of the finished gift); 4 cross section through the booklet; 5 shows a half part of the casting mold with an inserted fork.
The fork prongs 1 and 2 are cut out of a straight steel band at the ends of the strip and then hardened; the steel tines can also be welded to a wrought iron band and pulled out. Now the cranks 3 and 4 are pressed into this straight band and the middle part 5 of the band around the booklet, which is provided with a groove all around for this purpose, in such a way that the band lays into the groove of the booklet and his outer edges correspond to the outer edges of the booklet.
Then part 3 resp. 4 in the form of pliers or
Coquille placed the mold (Fig. 5) and the inner cavity, which is limited

It is advantageous to hold the prongs in position by a rivet bolt 11 and to coat the surface 10 of the handle with grease or the like, the latter for the purpose of preventing the handle from burning when the alloy is poured.
Fig. 1 shows a fork with two prongs, while in Fig. 3 a third and dotted prong are indicated. In the manufacture of such forks, the procedure is the same as above, whereby the strip pulled out at both ends to the prongs is bent in the middle at g and inserted into the mold so that the bending
