Description
<Desc/Clms Page number 1>
EMI1.2
Entsprechend der abweichenden Zusammensetzung der Erze und des Gichtstaubes müssen j'nc Zusehläge in ihren Mengenverhältnissen von Fall zu Fall analysengemäss bemessen werden ;

Process for the production of shaped and sintered iron ore briquettes.
The usefulness of iron briquettes for blast furnace operation is due to the fact that, firstly, they are not more expensive than lump ores, that they also withstand wind and weather, especially frozen, as well as the pressure of the masses in the blast furnace, without being crushed, and that they Furthermore, they are free from all harmful components contained in the lump ores, such as foreign metals or the like.
These advantages are achieved by cheap, easily liquid supplements. As such aggregates, finely ground kieselguhr and Stassfurt overburden salts (mountain gravel, carnallite and the like) are known to be suitable, because their alkalis and alkaline earths form silicates in the heat with the silicic acid, which have a cementing effect on the powdery ores and the gout dust, whereby the briquettes the necessary strength is given.
EMI1.1
The addition of calcium chloride is achieved, which aims to remove the harmful components of iron ores, such as lead and zinc.
Arsenic and the like when sintering the iron ore briquettes in a rotary kiln
EMI1.2
According to the differing composition of the ores and the gout dust, j'nc additions must be measured in their proportions from case to case according to the analysis;
