Die Erfindung betrifft Knochenimplantatauflagen zur Erzeugung einer Oberflächenstruktur für metallene Verankerungselemente von Knochenimplantaten, welche Auflagen mindestens einen Teil der Oberfläche des Verankerungselementes bedecken und mit dieser über eine Anzahl Haftstellen verbunden sind, wobei die Summe der Haftstellen eine Haftfestigkeit ergibt, die mindestens der Belastbarkeit des Knochens entspricht. 5 Um die Haftung eines Implantates in einem Knochen oder einem Knochenzementbett zu verbessern, ist es bekannt, die Oberfläche des Implantates mit einer Struktur zu versehen. Für metallene Verankerungselemente besteht eine bevorzugte Art einer solchen Oberflächenstruktur im - gegebenenfalls teilweise in den Grundköiper versenkte - metallischen Auflagen in der Form von Lochplatten (EP-A-0 038 902) oder Drahtgeweben (GB-A-2059267).
