Abstract
In a housing system for keeping small animals, in particular rabbits, composed of cages arranged in rows and on one or more levels, which cages are provided with displaceable walls and with openings which can be closed by door elements and with discharge devices arranged underneath the bottom of the cages, it is provided that the cage floors have a slanted section 9, which supports litter, and a level grille section 8 arranged behind it, where the front edge of the grille section 8 is at a higher level than the rear edge of the section 9 which supports litter, the discharge devices 13, 37; 15, 34 are arranged underneath the grille section 8, the rear edge of the section 9 which supports litter is also arranged above the discharge devices, the gap between the front edge of the grille section 8 and the rear edge of the section 9 which supports litter being obstructable by elements 10, 11 which delimit the litter, the back walls 16 of the cages being displaceable into the inside of the cage, and the doors 4 at the front being displaceable horizontally in the longitudinal direction of the cage battery and being provided with handles 113 which can be taken hold of by spring-loaded catches 117, which catches 117 are mounted pivotably on a lever or pair of levers 114 arranged along the face of the cage. <IMAGE>
