Abstract

The invention relates to an embodiment of the process according to patent No. 382384 for preparing a crosslinking component for cationic paint binders containing hydroxyl and/or primary or secondary amino groups, preferably on the basis of epoxide-amine adducts, the curing component being a substituted urea derivative. The curing component is prepared by reacting beta- hydroxyamines with isocyanate compounds followed by reaction with formaldehyde at from 80 to 130 degree C. The embodiment of the invention consists in a reaction of the hydroxyl groups present in the curing component with semi-blocked diisocyanates and/or alpha,beta-unsaturated monoisocyanates. This measure further increases the curing capacity.
