Swinging control slide for air pumps.
Taps, rotary valves and similar shut-off devices are usually designed in the shape of a cone, as they are easier to grind into their seat. In order to press the taps firmly onto their seat, they are either inserted into the housing with the help of a spindle passed through the housing cover and a screw nut placed on it from the outside

Spring pressed into the housing.
In these known designs therefore occurs not only at the seat of the shut-off cone, but also at those points of the housing where the means used to push the cone are applied, so that in addition to the

Correct slider for air pumps, which is formed from two cones with their tips opposite one another, whereby the pressure on the cock cones is absorbed by a spindle passed through them to avoid any particular friction on the housing. The cones can also be pressed onto their seating surfaces by springs to achieve a good seal.
The springs are supported on the one hand against the cones and on the other hand against collars provided on the spindle, so that the housing is relieved in every case.
In the drawing, an exemplary embodiment of the control slide according to the invention is shown.

The action of the air pump results as follows: If the piston sucks on the left side of the cylinder a, FIG. 1, the slide c is controlled so that the recesses cl connect the channel a1 to the suction line b. The valve h1 remains closed by the external pressure, while the pressure generated on the right side of the piston can blow off through the valve h2.
If the piston sucks on the right, the situation is naturally reversed.
